One of the best, spacious, well ventilated, clean and bright branches in Toronto.

Love the design and ambience of this place. The exposed wood, high ceilings and large windows make me feel relaxed whenever I'm there. The only downside was one larger, white, senior age lady was really rude to me one time and snapping at me one time when I was picking up my books a few months back and didn't have my card in me.

If you are visiting the Scarborough Civic Centre area, drop in to see the 100th City of Toronto Public Library that opened its doors in May 2015. You can get here using public transit or metered street parking is available on Borough Drive beside the library. I was here for that grand opening and took a tour of the facilities. This is my first trip back. It's a very nice modern facility with a view to the outside from pretty well anywhere inside. There is plenty of seating based on what you want to do while you're here. If you need to plug in your electrical device (e.g. cellphone, tablet), power outlets are available. Free WiFi access is available at all library branches. Enjoy this public space but be respectful of others too!

nice library but rude staff. Was in the middle of working at a computer station and was told to pack up in the middle of my work to give my space up for someone else who wanted the computer, even though i was there first. First come first serve should be a policy, no special treatment for late comers. The woman was rude and not understanding. Hate her.

Very nice new-ish library. Shorter hours than other nearby libraries and all pay-parking nearby and monitored regularly by parking enforcement officers. Take your chances by parking at the mall, but it's a LONG LONG walk there and back. Also, main reason why there's a Police Post at the mall is because of high crime at STC... muggings, purse snatchings, pickpockets, shootings, vehicle break-ins...

Great design and ambiance. That being said, I wish the seating was correct on the TPL website. TPL says there's room for 90 people to sit, but in reality it's probably 20-30 max. That includes seating at the reserved library computer stations and on the couches that aren't great for studying. I know TPL reduced seating because of COVID-19...but why didn't they update the website accordingly? When making the trek out here, you have to cross your fingers and hope there's seating available. It's not very TTC accessible (Cutting through the civic centre courtyard is the fasted way, but treacherous in the winter because of all the ice and stairs). Parking is paid and also very limited. Staff are nice enough. I've both had, and heard a few run-ins with an irritable staffer, but it was never anything personal.

I just love this library. Holds and pickups are hassle free. Today's activity bag for kids was really a nice way to encourage parents and kids incorporate STEM education.
