The reason for this is that Sensei Wilfred has made the Toronto JKA an inclusive environment to learn and perfect your Shotokan Karate. He is great with children and inspirational for adults. I highly recommend coming to the dojo and trying a class.

My 9 year old has been his student for over 4.5 years now. The discipline, self awareness, respect for others and dedication my son has gained is shown in his daily routines and well being. I, myself have trained with Sensei Wilfred. The respect I received from all the other students and Sensei made me feel apart of the family. The family Sensei Wilfred has made of his dojo.

He loves it, has learned so much mentally & physically, and really looks forward to attending every week. Sensei Wilfred runs a fun, challenging and well structured program that supports all levels.

She has learned so much not only about karate, but the importance of dedication, discipline and mentorship. We have also seen how much the physical training has helped her with her other activities as her strength and flexibility stands out in every group/team setting she has been a part of. Sensei Wilfred makes the classes interesting and has created a JKA Karate family through many events outside of the class setting and gives his students many opportunities to showcase their skills to the outside world which has been wonderful for their self-confidence.

She worked her way up from a white belt to a black belt. This club teaches kids but doesn’t hand out belts unless they pass the test. The kids grow a real sense of accomplishment with the belts and tournaments. I would highly recommend this club for kids who are interested in karate. Plus he does an awesome Christmas party!

She always wants to practice and attend class and has progressed and learned so much. Even pivoting to Zoom classes has gone well. Sensei is great with the kids — fun and disciplined. Now I just need to find time so I can also train! :) Highly recommend!
