Anyone can come check it out on Mondays at 7pm. Toastmasters can be anything to anybody, just depends on what you want to work on. Either way, you walk away with personal growth. Definitely recommend this group, especially if you live in Langford, BC or the Westshore area.

Of course I was apprehensive about my first visit there but quickly realized there was no need to be. The members are very supportive in helping you to reach your goals. They all started at the same place you did with fears about public speaking. You can sit back and watch for a bit or jump right in. I am gaining a wealth of knowledge on presentation and speaking skills that I intend to use going forward. My only regret is waiting as long as I did to come to my first meeting. If you are thinking about it all, I would highly recommend taking that first step and checking out a Toastmasters Goldstream meeting.

I have made many friends through the Toastmasters organizations. As a Toastmaster, each person usually starts out wanting to improve communication skills. With a commitment to the program, they quickly realize that there is a lot more to be gained, like support, networking, confidence boosting, development of skills like time management, organization and mentoring. Carpe Diem. Adventures await.

The people are very friendly and encouraging so it's much less nerve wracking standing up in front of them. I like that the program is self paced and I can go as fast or as slow as I want to. If you want to feel more confident speaking in front of people, this is the place to come!
