This is a ridiculously good golf course. Well worth the trip north to sudbury. Drive past deerhurst it's nothing compared to this place. Far superior customer service and friendly staff. Place is a gem..

Winter preparations are underway at this time, with both fairways and green have been aerated. Bunkers need to raked and cleaned of debris. The rough is long and lush. A difficult test as a result.

Played for the second time this week and the fifth time this year. The bunkers are a total mess - as usual; they're more like gravel pits / weeping tile traps. The burger at the turn appeared to be circa 2003 - cold and stiff; I would have gone with the sandwich but there was only one of those and it definitely looked dubious. The course was overbooked / jammed up, the starter was under attack all day - he put us on the back 9 to start where we were almost immediately involved in a skirmish with the group coming off the front who were annoyed at the slow round. Not our fault - take it up with the ownership! The course is badly managed, badly maintained, and it was a badly run day - thumbs down all around in every possible facet. Sam, spend some money on maintenance and don't double book the tee times all day - then it might be worth your green fees. Timber could be a nice course but it's a hot mess right now and not worth visiting.

This is a real golf course. Long, every hole different, with greens you truly have to read. Fairways great. I think it is the 2nd nicest course in northern Ontario. Fantastic drying range. Good was great last year - please keep it going.

Just finished my first golf lesson with Tom Clark. Tom was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He went through golf basics verbally and had excellent visual aids as well. On the driving range, I was filmed hitting the ball and Tom provided me with handy tips and exercises to correct my deficiencies. The first lesson flew by and I look forward to working on the tips Tom taught me.

I played Timberwolf yesterday on my way through Sudbury. I had heard great things for years and I was not disappointed. Everything about this place is top notch. From the moment you arrive in the lot, all the buildings and grounds are well-kept. The food in the clubhouse was tasty and fast, and the service was excellent (as it was with every single person I interacted with). The practice facilities were well-appointed with a large range with natural and artificial surfaces, practice bunkers and putting greens. As for the course itself, it was in pristine condition and played quite challenging for me as a bogey golfer. Some Canadian pros had a tourney earlier in the week so everything was groomed accordingly and the greens were quite challenging. Every part of the course was picturesque and excellently maintained. The beer cart came by 4 times during my round. I could not be happier to have played this course and will now be making a point of bringing my clubs every time I come through Sudbury! Worth every penny. Oh, and stay out of the fescue!

Everyone was wondering why they took so long opening up this year. They've had a tough winter, 2 temporary greens and many other greens are a disaster. Fairways full of clumps of clippings on Friday too. Charging full price as usual though! Avoid for a few weeks.

Pro Putt Golf review* (Note: this ONLY addresses the mini putt, as we haven’t used the main golf course yet) Very well maintained. Challenging holes. We went with our 8-year old who struggled on quite a few of the holes. Definitely not your typical walled-in mini putt in the traditional sense, but made it a fun and challenging experience for the adults. Wouldn’t recommend bringing kids much younger than that unless they’ve golfed before, as the courses are a bit longer and we had to chase our son’s ball out of the rocks several times (easy to do, but could be discouraging for younger players). Will definitely be returning.
