Highly unprofessional management. When we had first started renting the property manager seemed very nice and attentive- that was not the case though. In April we had made her aware of there being a bedbug at our entrance but nowhere else in our suite as we have pest control experience and know what to look for, which meant someone else in the building had them. She quickly dismissed it claiming they had never had a bedbug problem before (as if that has any factor about getting them now). Landlords HAVE to act promptly in treating bedbugs but she did not. 1 month later and the building is infested with bedbugs in the basement suites, which also has the shared laundry, and several other units on the 2nd and 3rd floor have bedbugs as well. The bedbugs originated from the suite below us and was so infested they were crawling on the walls and door frames. With a baby in our apartment we had to be out of the suite for 24 hours after treatment and because we had nowhere to go with no family out here we were told we would be reimbursed for a hotel stay (which is a landlords responsibility) and that was a lie. When it came time for the second treatment the property manager pretty much told us “too bad” and had the common areas and other suites sprayed anyways with the exception of our suite since we had nowhere to go. That itself shows how little knowledge she has to be maintaining a building because the bedbugs will just hide in the walls and come into our untreated suite and the problem will keep occurring. Luckily we are moving very soon but we are certain the property manager will not follow the rules of ORT and tell possible tenants about the history of the bedbug infestation, which is still current and likely will be for the next couple of months! We haven’t even been able to use the laundry because the chances of getting bedbugs in our place from using it is too high. We also dealt with a bank error happening resulting in the rent being returned and instead of informing us (because to our knowledge we saw it pull out and it shouldn’t have been returned) she waited until the maximum late fees applied to tell us- which is $375 for a bedbug infested suite. We have always paid our rent but felt a $375 late fee given the circumstances of the building having bedbugs and not being treated right away, the late rent being from the bank error, and her not notifying us until we would owe the full $375 was ridiculous (we did already pay half of the amount for late fees though). We did ask to talk to the actual owner of the building to resolve these issues and notify him/her of the unprofessionalism from the property manager but she refused to let us speak with them. We tried working with her over and over again and let her know we were not trying to be difficult and didn’t want any issues but it’s obvious she has no experience with rental management and shouldn’t be doing it. We are going to the ORT about everything and we also believe she will try to keep our damage deposit, which she didn’t deny when we voiced our concerns about that to her. We are writing a review because after talking to a family member who has also pest control experience and high business experience they could not believe the way this was being handled and suggested we write a review to inform others of what these rental properties are like.

I am the property manager that Jordan Yarish so untruthfully mentioned in the above review. All I will add is that he was behind on rent every month and when asked to allow us to treat his unit, he refused. We, along with the owners addressed the bed bug issue quickly and aggressively with professionals. Jordan was evicted due to the above reasons and was unhappy about this. Please take this into consideration when reading his review.
