Thruway Restaurant

Just had a wonderful dinner! Thanks to Thruway for being open on a night when everything is closed due to power outages. A special thanks to Tracy who never once lost her smile and was the best server we have ever had! Delicious meal!

Been gathering here with family from all across the Ottawa Valley and the US for more than 15 years and have never once had a bad meal here. Staff is always attentive, helpful and cheerful. Always looking ok forward to coming back here!

HAIR IN MY SALAD!!!! We dropped by for dinner last night, April 4, 2022. I ordered the steak and salad with baked potato and vegetables. I took my first bite of the salad and realized that I had this long (about 8-10 inches, perhaps blond) hair hanging from my mouth. Now the little hair that I have left is short and grey so it wasn't mine! I was disgusted!!!! I called the waitress over who was also surprised and asked me if I wanted another soup or salad and I declined. At this point I was thinking Not Bloody Likely but I chose to be polite about it. Then the steak came and the vegetables had the life boiled out of them. Completely bland with no flavor. The steak was "ok" but undercooked. Nevertheless, the meal was edible and I managed to eat the cooked veggies after applying A LOT of pepper. As for the hair, a classy or decent restaurant would have had the manager come over to apologize and knock a few bucks off the meal just for goodwill. That didn't happen! When we paid our bill at the front we were asked how the meal was. I said "fair" expecting the girl to ask "what was wrong?" or "what could we have done better?". That didn't happen! She didn't comment or even look up at us. Needless to say no tip was rendered! My suggestion for this restaurant is to change the name to "Throw Away Restaurant" because when you end up with hair in your food the staff need to "make it right". Well Throw Away Restaurant.....you not only lost us as customers, we will tell all our friends this story and suggest that they stay away. And please, we don't want to hear the standard manager/owner reply to this review!!!! You had your chance and your staff blew it!!!!

Came in hungry, the chicken parmigiana looked like it does in the pictures and tasted perfect. The sauce on the chicken and then the cheese melted on top was properly cooked. The chicken was cooked to perfection. No rubber chicken. The pasta was what you'd expect from pasta - the way it was supposed to taste. Highly recommend this restaurant. I just want to add that the staff was so accomodating with some additional requests.

Stopped here on a whim coming from Ottawa to Kingston. The service was great and the food was awesome. Lots of options and all surprisingly delicious. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal with a home cooked feel.

This is a single location restaurant that's been owned by the same family for over 40 years. My girlfriend and I have had both breakfast and dinner here and we've loved it. The menu isn't complicated and contains a lot of common family restaurant fare. However, it all feels lovingly made and the prices are beyond reasonable for this day and age. The service is also warm and friendly and the decor is homey. This is a great place that well happily be going back to.

Awesome Greek dish I had.huge amount of food... comfortable seating.. painting on ceiling reminded me of a resort...was a nice afternoon with friends.

The only breakfast I could ever want. Thruway Classic breakfast came with two eggs, twos toasts, 1 pancake, bacon and home fries. For only 11.50. Place has got character. Cute blue sky hand-painted ceiling mural. Sat on the covered part of the patio.
