Where do I start. My parent has lived at this facility for numerous years. There hasn't been anything that has stood out warranting a review. All I know is since the change of management this home has gone downhill. I know for a fact there has been incidents with rodents (mice). Okay... nothing unusual for living in an urban environment. Within the last year there has been a huge issue with bugs in residents rooms (again could be expected). This problem however has been going on far too long and I know for a fact has spreed throughout the building (according to parent). Pre COVID the current GM was rarely available to family or residents. Previously the other manager was very engaged with residents and family. You couldn't step in the doors without a good chuckle of laugh. The current GM has been nowhere to be found. According to my family and other residents they don't even know who the manager is. Now lets start with COVID. Residents are out and about within facility not wearing masks. My parent has informed me they attend programs and people are very close and not wearing any protective gear. Surely there must be rules for this? I have seen residents out and about visiting with large groups of family? Yet I was informed we are only to have a maximum of 2 visit? What is this? Is there no monitoring of this? Now I HEAR there is COVID case (possible) outbreak. I am not surprised as I have mentioned to the nurse previously with no real answer as to why people are not wearing masks. I have met with my parent who doesn't like the rodents, bed bugs, lack of management however has formed a relationship with lots of residents over the years. They don't want to move at this time. If I had it my way they would have been out of there a couple years ago. What happened Thornebridge? What happened? Maybe the previous manager could step in to give some guidance? Or maybe this is not a management problem rather a company problem? All I know is change and guidance are needed as surely there is something missing within this home. I have never done a review on google before however it doesn't look like Thornebridge Gardens takes actions immediately on anything. These are words also spoken by a few other residents families there. On a positive note my parent has nothing good to say about the staff and residents. The marketing manager has really been compassionate, informative and delightful during the initial visit many many years ago until now. I am not writing this to be nasty, rather in the hopes that the company address some of the concerns stated. I will also be emailing and calling head office within the next week. I don't need a reply to this review, rather fix the issues you know you are aware of such as bedbugs and lack of COVID protocols to start.

I concur with comments about poor communications. Until COVID, they had no established practice for pro-actively communicating with families and continue to invest minimal time/effort. Response time can be very slow or not at all. Food and recreation are so-so compared to other another facility I’ve had experience with. Staff seem caring and competent; though turn over seems high in some areas.

My mother has lived at Thornbridge Gardens for 4 years. She wanted to live there, so put her house up for sale, and Thornbridge found her the perfect suite. Being almost 92, she is needing more help these days, and the staff are very helpful. Although she does pay extra for the help, help is there. The staff are very patient as well, and being 92, mom can be a bit demanding; the staff handle that well. Staff also seem to really like the people who live at the home. A friends father, who has since passed, was one of the first to move into Thornbridge, and our friend highly recommended Thornbridge Gardens.

My visit to Thornebridge Gardens. A few months ago i visited Thornebridge Gardens; Inspired Senior Living Home and was delightfully surprised by the warmth and friendliness of the marketing manager and staff. I was given the opportunity to walk around in the building and view a few suites. The rooms were bright and cheerful, I was impressed how nicely everything was arranged in the building. Following my tour i was treated to an outstanding meal. I would highly recommend Thornebridge Gardens!

My Mom and Dad lived at Thornebridge for about 7 years. I cannot say enough good things: the staff is very caring, the facility is modern, clean and high-end, and the location is great with many things within walking distance. When my parents moved in they didn't need any extra services, but as time went by, they needed more. I was very pleased by the attention they got: For example I liked the way the staff followed-up if Mom/Dad didn't show up for a meal. After my Dad passed away, the staff worked hard to make my Mom comfortable and gave her many extra services that allowed her to stay there for as long as possible. I highly recommend Thornebridge for independent seniors.

I have worked at Thornebridge Gardens since the day it opened until recently when I moved. The staff are very caring and compassionate towards the residents. There's a sense of family amongst the staff and they genuinely care about each other. The residents are the number one priority always. The current GM has made great improvements. The staff work hard in keeping to the FH guidelines through Covid-19. As a former staff member I know that this is a place I would want my parents or grandparents to spend their retirement days at. Staff are trustworthy, caring, compassionate and knowledgable. Residents are friendly, happy, comfortable and content. It's a beautiful home with wonderful people!

As a current employee, I am proud to work at Thornebridge Gardens. The team works together collaboratively, and have a genuine passion caring for Seniors. The residents are so kind, and really help to welcome new residents to the community. I eat lunch on-site everyday, and the food is delicious, especially the home-made soups. Every time I walk by the exercise programs, I want to join too...the recreation team does a great job of encouraging active and healthy living. Thornebridge Gardens has a beautiful walking path around the community, and also patios where you can sit and enjoy the sun...but my favorite is the smell of the Lavender bushes and wild Alberta roses. Another great thing about Thornebridge is the location. Just a short walk down the street is London Drugs, Walmart, and Royal City Mall. If I could retire and live at Thornebridge Gardens, I would in a heartbeat!
