About The White Poplar

The White Poplar’s Story:

It all started when Dillon found a piece of property for sale on Kijiji. It was 70 acres with trails cut through mature forest and a 10 acre clearing with a pond. We went to look at it and fell in love - we made an offer to buy it that weekend. Once the sale was complete we started to think about what we wanted to do with our beautiful piece of land.

We were planning our own wedding when we found there was no venue available in the area able to host our event - the seed of an idea was planted that maybe we could build one.

Fast forward two years, and we were in a place where we could make the venue a reality. Our vision was to create a simple yet comfortable & beautiful space that we could afford to rent out at a fair price. We had the skills & support to build it all ourselves, and we did!

With the support of our family & friends, in the summer of 2019 we started the huge task of landscaping the property and building the pavilion. In 2020 we built our washroom/catering prep/storage facility and completed the majority of landscaping.

In 2021 we were lucky enough to begin hosting weddings & events. We met so many beautiful couples, families and vendors. We hope to see you celebrating at The White Poplar in the future!

Being a bride and viewing the venue when it was only mud and beams, I trusted their vision and I'm soo glad I did! Absolutely stunning venue! AJ was very quick with email response and let me come view the progress multiple times, she put me at ease with all the "what if" questions.. and the help, from setup to take down, the bartenders..I cannot say enough about them and the beautiful & affordable venue they built except I wish I can do it all over again just so I can go back again. It's so pretty!! Find our for yourself and book a tour !

The venue itself it just absolutely stunning and laid out well. All of our guest all loved the venue, the fire pit and love sign were all bit hits with our guests.

Aj was so easy to correspond with and took care of so many behind the scenes details. The venue is so beautifully landscaped and the buildings are well kept. All of our guests were so impressed with the venue and couldn’t stop raving about it! It was important that all of our guests felt like they belonged and had a place they could mingle. The venue accommodated that! From having a cozy fire place to a large yard for games, there was never a dull moment. Our day couldn’t have been more perfect and I could not recommend this venue enough! If you’re on the fence, take a tour and I’m sure you’ll be convinced!

It's literally off the highway you can't miss it, it's a short dirt road that leads straight to the parking lot. PROS • venue is gorgeous & can fit easily 400+ people • outdoors is gorgeous & the indoor portion is beautiful as welll • staff is so helpful & kind! CONS • none at the moment, either than it is far, but worth it.

The owners, AJ and Dillon are so great to work with. They are so open, friendly and welcoming every time we came to visit and helped us with recommendations. It was so evident they took pride in every process to ensure any couple could have their dream wedding there. They have a big, open property, lots of different options for a ceremony, you are surrounded by trees and a pond in the back. Awesome photo location! We definitely recommend booking your wedding here if you are looking to work with people who not only care about your wedding but you as a couple/family as well.

They were so accommodating and responsive. They have everything you need there, the tables and chairs are beautiful and even when you're under the large canopy structure it still feels like you're outside. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and best of all, it's dog friendly!
