★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing hidden gem! We stopped by to try this place and the food was absolutely incredible!! We were greeted promptly by Debbie. She was delightful, outgoing and friendly. The restaurant vibe was also very cozy and welcoming. We ordered the chicken Caesar wrap with soup and Reuben on rye. Everything was so delicious and well made! I even ordered an extra soup because of the taste, very yummy. Again Debbie was a great server to us, and I recommend being served by her when you come!! Thanks again we’ll be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried takeout for the first time from here. Ordered (2) sandwiches for lunch on a Sunday and it was about 45 min wait time. I tried the Reuben on Rye Sandwiche and it was delicious; lots of meat and great tasting sauerkraut. Would definitely have it again. The staff was friendly during pickup and the ensured we had the cutlery and condiments required.

Glad to have seen them come out of the covid restrictions. Family owned business in the heart of downtown Stoney Creek is what everyone should want to support.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In April of 1998 my dad, recently divorced, was living with his brother in Owen Sound. I was 12 at the time and took a bus up with my little sister to visit him. My sister and I were both upset about a racial incident that happened on the bus so my dad took us to a great little restaurant for dinner. Walking into The Village Restaurant brought me right back to that racially charged night in April of 98.
What a fantastic family establishment. We had the club sandwich, beef dip, French onion soup and my 3 year old had the 14oz roast beef dinner. Everything was magical and we didn't want to leave. Love the service and can't wait to return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the pleasure of dealing with Mary when we booked their restaurant for my son’s baptism a few months ago. We found Mary to be very kind, courteous, and welcoming. Our son has a medical complication, and she was very accommodating with our requests. Pricing was very fair, and they went above and beyond with their service, including a customized menu with personalized photos included in the menu. We had booked the main dining room for the occasion.
Service was great on the day of. Although things got very busy, the servers did a great job making sure people were getting their orders.
The food was delicious. The kitchen did a great job with the food. Everyone was praising the roast beef. I ordered the grilled chicken, and thought it was quite delicious as well. And the salmon was very good, especially the rice that came with it.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely go there again. They made my son’s special day very special. We’re very happy that we decided to go to them to celebrate our son’s special day. Thank you!
(Update: We did go back for dinner for my dad’s birthday, and we also had a great experience. More on that on a separate review).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a private birthday party last year September with around ~20 guest. Can’t say enough good things about the restaurant owners, the staff, the awesome food. They made us feel welcome and everything was top notch. Just have to say thank you to everyone involved.
Will surely recommend if you wanna have a private gathering or party.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The service was slow. The server brought our food out and tried to give our food to the next table and realized it while putting the plates down. She then quickly turned and brought them back into the kitchen and them immediately came out with the two plates again. She then came to our table with the plates of food. It was entertaining if nothing else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From the outside, it appears to be a single building but as you enter and look around you notice three quite distinct areas. The nicely renovated sections blend together to provide a dining room, dinner and sports bar all in one restaurant. Food is great, prices are very affordable, service is good. Parking can be found.
