Sometimes it can be really challenging to find the words we want to express what we’re experiencing and how we feel.  Creative Therapy is an arts-based holistic counselling practice that is suitable for everyone and is especially useful when words are hard to access or talking isn’t getting us where we want to be.  

Art is a wonderful medium for bypassing our thinking brains and getting deep into flow where we can then access our subconscious, our deeply held beliefs, and feelings.  Creating art while in this state provides an opportunity for emotional and self-expression, restoration, and release, where we get to let go of a lot of stress, old patterns of belief and behaviour, and start to create a more positive outlook and approach to our lives. By reducing stress, it is easier to find balance in all of our systems: mind, body, spirit, and emotions. 

Sunflower Holistic Arts offers Creative Therapy for Children, Teens, and Adults.  Sessions focus on art making and can also include meditation, breathwork, movement, play, drama, and music.  A variety of art materials are provided at each session.  

Mandy is a HICAT practitioner (holistic integrative creative arts therapy) and has a master’s degree in education with a focus on early childhood.  Mandy’s specialization is Highly Sensitive Children.
