About The Urban Settler
Our store is located in downtown Fernie on 2nd Avenue in the historic Livery Building, which was constructed in 1908 using stones harvested from the mighty Elk River. The building was built by the Fernie Livery, Dray, and Transfer Co. which once served the Elk Valley delivering dry goods and coal to homes and businesses. More than 100 years later, from this same location, The Urban Settler is proud to serve Fernie, The Elk Valley, Kootenays, and beyond. We have recently opened a second location on second avenue beside the Livery building, doubling our sqaure footage. The space includes warehouse and additional showroom and ensures our ability to offer a greater selection of furniture and décor to our clients.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To be honest, I don't look like a "million dollars" but we do own a house "of value". I have been twice and asked questions. The only person who seems to care is the gal at the front desk. Even though they have my email address they have never contacted me. I have found another interior designer.

We stop in every year and always manage to find a piece of Fernie to bring home with us :) Paul & staff take care of us well - whether it’s quickly wrapping furniture to transport home safely or deliver a forgotten item to our hotel. Looking forward to our next visit to find more quality items.

The staff was also quiet and reserved (only made a comment or two) until we were about to leave and then they engaged us. It is a nice store but there is just something off.
