They have NO respect for the neighbourhoods they are making war noises in. They start before the legal time of 7:30am (which should be illegal in its own right). What municipality thinks that drilling and hammering can start right outside your bedroom window at 7:00am? The start time for this ignorant construction should be 9am like regular business hours. Starting at 7am since the summer - all you hear is: boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom till the evening when I get home from work. It is literally torture.

We purchased a house from Pennyfarthing in 2012 with a completion date of July 1st, 2013. We loved the house and the location. We looked at Pennyfarthing's prospectus which made many promises if quality and customer satisfaction. This project was later managed by Trillium Project Management. We were quite excited. At the end of May 2013 our lot was still a hole in the ground and no permits taken out. No communication whatsoever. When we bought, they were on to their second builder who made a lot of excuses, blaming the City of Maple Ridge for the delay with the permit when in reality we had checked and no permit application submitted. Then the builder blamed the delay on their own onsite realtor. That realtor eventually left and a new one arrived.. Then that realtor also left a few months later without warning. But not before their second builder left. Before they finished our house the third realtor arrived, Jeremy McCarthy, and he was really disinterested in assisting us since he got no commission on our deal. Finally they brought Trillium Project Management in to take over this development. But nothing changed. Our house was five months late. The onsite superintendent constantly deflected any responsibility for various deficiencies. We knew that there would be deficiencies and of course the builder would need time to come back and correct defiencies. We expected that. What we we not prepared for was that they wouldn't even take responsibility for several very obvious defiencies. It was like pulling teeth and became quite hostile. They would stall, make excuses and blame their trades. The assistant superintendent would make appointments and not show up. When he did come in he would damage more then he fixed. As we got to know our neighbours we all realized that we all had the same problems and deficiencies. All of us. When we tried bringing these issues to the attention of Pennyfarthing and the project manager of Trillium Project Management, he came out and looked at our deficiencies. He said he argeed with 75 percent of them. After that we never heard from him again and he never returned our phone calls. Dr Anthony Hepworth and his son Geoff Hepworth also never returned our phone calls. Two years later we are still waiting for a number of serious deficiencies to be corrected. We feel taken advantage of and ignored by the owners of Pennyfarthing and Trillium Project Management. We also feel let down and misled by the Traveler's Insurance guarantees because the insurance did absolutely nothing to ensure deficiencies were corrected. So don't buy into these guarantees and warrantees. Pennyfarthing and Trillium Project Management have terrible customer service. They do not treat their homeowners with respect and they certainly do not stand behind their work.

I have had the unfortunate part of living next to one of their projects. They do not respect the bylaws of the city they are in and the workers they use are rude. I have had to make several complaints as they work past the alloted times and leave compressors and blast heaters running all night. They even moved our garbage can and blocked our fire escape from our parkade witjout permission and didnt even have enough respect to move it back. They block the alley ways without permits and do what they want. Dont let them into your neighbourhood next.
