The Top Dog Store - Calgary

Can I just have a word here to all the people who are so negative about Too Dog? I looked hard for a new pet when my older dog passed away in July. After much searching I rescued a dog who was surrendered due to “anxiety” in the current household was assured living with a senior in a one dog one person home would flourish. Long story short after three months of constant love, attention, vet care and hours spent with him (falling hopelessly in love with him) he snapped, attacking myself, my son and a friend who had been in the house for three minutes. The night he attacked me I had to call the rescue to come help get control after four hours of terror, trapped by this dog. We eventually got him into a kennel and two days later at the vet he attacked me again in front of the vet and a technician…. So my point is…. Even with the best intentions of rescue it’s ruined me for that action and I place my trust in Top Dog. Think about that for a minute, I’ve had dogs all my life always thought I could manage a rescue but when lied to about reasons for surrender etc they are not to be trusted. I’ll buy from Top Dog because of their due diligence.

We are over the moon with this girl. She is a breed that can be scary to look for from breeders. This store takes out the guess work of if someone is honest and reputable. Although I do agree with adopting a lot of young families can’t find suitable safe family pets that way! That makes top dog your go to. Very clean facility, clean dogs, completely up to date on medical vaccinations. We just had our vet apt and I asked about top dog and they said it was a company they support. That top dog is responsible and healthy pets are their goal! If we ever are in the market for a puppy again there is no second guess of where I’ll be going. Top Dog knows their stuff. Thank you! Memphis is just the companion we needed in our lives.

Absolutely upset with my experience today, my boyfriend and I took our puppy into the store and were told that he was to big to be in the store because puppy’s were walking around.. when indeed there were no puppy’s out of their tiny cages… love seeing everyone else’s experiences, in owners not being allowed into the store with their pets for the “safety” of the puppy’s being not vaccinated fully. When they send puppy’s home with people such as my boyfriend and I who have a dog or two, that may be bigger, or just have other dogs at home!? After the lady at the front said we weren’t able to have our puppy in the store as soon as we walked in, we put him in the car and continued to look around for toys and treats. There were 3 staff members in the store and NONE said hello to us or asked us if we needed help with anything… super disrespectful. Didn’t even pay attention to us. Then a lady walked into the store with her puppy and the staff didn’t say anything at all. I don’t care if the puppy came from the store or not, if a puppy leaves the store after being bought it’s shouldn’t be allowed in the store if my dog isn’t allowed. It could be carrying something now after it’s left the store. This rule should apply to all owners. Even store workers. Stay consistent! I saw on top dogs face book page about their new Aussie/ heeler mix puppy’s and was supper interested in getting one today, but after my experience at the store I decided to leave and probably never come back. I would have loved to ask questions and maybe feel out some other puppies but I indeed ended up leaving with a bad taste in my mouth instead. Extremely disappointed in reading other’s responses about the store especially with the copy and paste reply’s the store is giving everyone who has a bad comment or rating. Shows were the stores priority’s are.

We got our little Havanese-Yorkshire Terrier cross at Top Dog Store and we love him! Very impressed with the store, the care they take with the puppies and their follow up!

I recently purchased a puppy from this store and he is the healthiest happiest little guy checked out healthy with my vet and found entire experience positive. I will also add my previous dogs which I purchased all from petland pet stores in the past, who many claimed to have puppy mill dogs all lived long healthy lives. They lived to 15, 17, and 19 years so to me that's pretty amazing ! My experience with topdog was positive and I'm very happy with my little pup! As for all the negative comments on here, I just shake my head !

1-3K for a mixed breed dog is just unacceptable. What happens to all the puppies when you can’t sell them for that much? Do you surrender them to shelters? Give them away? What happens? No transparency on behalf of this company whatsoever. Want better reviews? Do better. And you can save the pre-typed auto response. I’m not interested in hearing about how you’re a “professional kennel” without documentation backing up that claim. Go sc@m someone else.

They should be ashamed! Selling dogs for 4 and 5 thousand dollars! Taking advantage of people who wants a dog and can't find one. The owner does not care except for his/her wallet and all her responses are pre-written which shows how little she cares. They also sell puppy classes. They are horrible, they do not teach you much, expensive for what you get and if you have 3 or more puppies you get almost no personal time. Get a phone app and you are better off! A set of puppy pads of 10 is $15 when Costco sells 100 for $20! DO NOT SHOP HERE!! PS I bought a dog here and I really regret giving this people my money. They are horrible

We found this wonderful store and went home with our newest family member. We didn't have to wait 6 months or longer for a litter. Meghan the sales rep was wonderful and so polite and yet soo professional. She made the whole process seamless. Thank you Meghan! I would recommend this place to whomever is looking for their forever home puppy. This beautiful girl's name is Raven
