I fine the people who runs this Dance theatre catered to people who are more upper class. I am a single mother of two and I was told to put my child in this place. Unfortunately I did not feel welcome, my child was ill and miss few classes and not one person call to see why my child was not there. I find that huge establishment like this care less about THEIR PARTICIPANTS and more about the numbers and money. This is the honest truth. The parents are also snobs and trained their children to be snobs.

Poor costumer service ... poor people skills ... Due to Covid everyone went and are going through difficult times, mentally, financially, etc. and we were deny a refund in good terms ... we had to pushed for it and had to go thru very diminished comments from the OWNER. Who at the end said he was going to refund a % but her math skills were off too and when I confronted her she didnt didnt even comment. WHAT A PITTY!!! At the beginning I like the school for its professionalism. The space? hmmm who has the perfect one, a few ones specially in the area where they are located. The staff? very cold and kind of jitty jatty. Its hard to feel a warm welcome from the main staff, I can't complain about our teacher.

There is consistent excellence demonstrated both at the school and from the company year after year. An unparalleled experience for young dance artists and their families.

When my little girl turned 3, my husband and I decided to sign her up for dance classes. After heating some great reviews from friend who had signed their children up for dance classes, we signed our daughter up for "Music and Movement". This toddler class was perfect for my daughter! They kept the classes fun and upbeat to keep her, and the other students interested through the whole class. Be warned, the classes can be expensive, but if you can afford it, it is well worth the investment.

My daughter has been a student of the school for five years. I highly recommend this school. I am a former professional dancer and their curriculum is well structured mixing both Royal Academy of Dance ballet classes but also the Limon method of modern dance- something that cannot be found in any other school in Canada. It is non-competitive (with classes in other dance styles too). The school has a 'advanced program' for young dancers to progress through leading up to a company position (after passing auditions) while at the same time embraces 'recreational' dancers who work towards the end of the year school performance. Their shows are a MUST SEE, if you are curious about the quality of dance training, which are held at established theaters.

Our daughter has been at CCDT for 3 years and we have been very, very pleased with the school. The Music & Movement class for youngsters was fabulous, as were the teachers. Our daughter loved both the modern and ballet classes she has taken. This year's ballet class is a lot fun but incorporates some discipline as well. I think the teachers are top notch. If you want to be convinced, catch one of the performances by the senior dance troupe - absolutely amazing!

After a few years of creative movement classes at a different studio we enrolled our daughter in ballet at CCDT with the thought that she might enjoy structured dance lessons. CCDT teachers expect a certain (age appropriate) amount of excellence from their students and the kids really do seem to respond to this. Our daughter certainly took to it, enrolled in several other classes and is now in love with dance with no plans to stop.

Our daughter participated this past summer in the SunDance summer program online which was a new experience for everyone, yet the training was still comprehensive and thorough while still allowing the dancers to create and develop their own artistry. She has just recently begun training as a company apprentice with CCDT, and has felt very welcomed and appreciated. All the teachers are very respectful and truly want the best for each dancer. The feedback is delivered in a constructive and positive way. COVID-19 protocols are in effect and have not taken away from the overall experience.
