We are celebrating International Plastic Bag Free Day on July 3rd by permanently eliminating plastic checkout bags in our stores as of that date.
Environmental stewardship is important to everything we do at The Salvation Army Thrift Store in our mission to help build stronger, greener communities alongside our Guests and Donors, and this policy is another way that we are living that mission. We encourage you to bring your own reusable bags with you to shop, or you can choose to purchase one of our own Refresh, Recycle, Restyle reusable eco bags for $1.99.
In Canada, up to 15 billion plastic bags are used every year. Eliminating single-use plastics like these are an important step towards a circular economy – something that we are proud to play an important role in as one of Canada’s largest textile recyclers.
“Although the federal government’s announced national ban on single-use plastic items, including plastic bags, is not yet in effect, we are proud to be taking initiative and leading the way in our role as environmental stewards,” says Ted Troughton, Managing Director of The Salvation Army Thrift Store. “We look forward to continue making thrifting even greener alongside our guests and donors.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great thrift store.... unfortunately this location is filthy. The cjange/fitting rooms look like they have not been cleaned in a month. Between the cob webs and the dust sunnies.... not to mention the blood on the walls. ... not very happy with the cleanliness. Also I have really started to notice a fairly substantial price difference between this Sally and the one on Red River rd. With the memorial eve Bering more expensive. Think I will be us I g the Red River location more often for my thrift shopping needs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Boxing day half price off. And the constant monthly sales are really appreciated. However it would be more effective for individuals who receive government assistance if the sale dates coincided with pay dates to allow for those individuals to have funds to utilize the sale.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like this one as it next to Value Village. I always check the one I need there before I look up in VV. Reasonable price and no tax. My wife often buy items for her and my children here. They also offer buy one get one for book on Saturday. We did buy the ice skating shoes for my daughter ( 8$) and son (4$). They’re good enough for the kids to practice. Clothes for woman is much more than man and kids. But all have good price. I did bought a lot for my parents in law. They love them much: leather jacket, sport clothes...
One issue is not many electronics and electrical items.
