We made a reservation at the rooftop garden patio and it's gorgeous up there. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, the food was perfect, and the view was phenomenal. Keep in mind that it is somewhat exposed to the elements so it could get quite warm if you're not seated in a more shade area.

I love the new seating plan and decor on the roof. So much better than how it originally was!! The setting is gorgeous and the ambience is perfect. Makes you forget you're somewhere on Alberni street. We came for happy hour and the food was delicious. We had the deep fried mac and cheese (an absolute must if you haven't tried), oysters, onion rings, and the Jerk chicken flat bread from the regular menu. My boyfriend had several of the Mai tais on special so they must have been good lol. I had the house red and it was decent! Service was great, everyone followed covid protocols, and our vaccination status was checked at the entrance. Will definitely be coming back again.

I have dined at several of the Glowbal Group restaurants over the years, and for a family member's birthday, we decided to try The Roof @ Black+Blue. Its menu is sort of a hybrid of Black+Blue downstairs and nearby sister restaurant Coast. We dined early to take advantage of the latter part of Happy Hour. The Happy Hour cocktails were very nice, the related appetizers were tasty, and both were a good value. Our entrees were amazing, including the impressive tomahawk steak shared by the birthday celebrant and partner. And, we finally got to use several gift certificates I had purchased last year for a special occasion. Definitely worth trying like all the Glowbal Group restaurants.

Came here for the first time on an extra rainy/windy night and expected it to be chilly and somewhat wet but when sitting it felt like being indoors. The place is very well heated and completely covered from wind and rain to the point where you don't even need your jacket. We ordered the Mac'N Cheese Sticks and Tiger Prawns for starters and both were very good. The sauce in the prawns was amazing. For our main we ordered the Tenderloin Steak and Rib Eye Steak. Both were great but the Tenderloin was next level juicy. For desert we ordered some cake which was delicious because it wasn't overly sweet. Overall, the service was good and the waiter even took our mains back to the kitchen after she saw that we ended up sharing to be cut up for us.

We went to Black & Blue on a whim - we had an old gift card we need to use from Glowbal, it was a sunny day in Vancouver, I had heard great things about The Roof - so why not go see? We were greeted by a lovely team of hosts who said they could add us to the wait list, and us, being oblivious (we did not realize the dinning room wasn’t open yet), asked if we could sit at the bar and wait. They didn’t even flinch, the bartender allowed us to sit and hangout while he prepped, within 45 mins they somehow had a table for us upstairs and boy am I glad they did! We very much so took advantage of the happy hour ordering margarita’s (on the rocks and so yummy), sangria (could actually taste the wine which was a refreshing change), and then for food we ordered some fresh oysters (we’re obsessed, sue us), the crispy calamari (marinated in buttermilk and spices to make it so tender and flavourful), the ahi tuna tartar (each bite was to be savoured as it was a melody in your mouth), the Quattro formaggio flatbread (not our favourite but still so tasty), and the prawn cocktail (could have passed on this, was good but tuna and calamari were just exceptional comparatively). All in all it was a fantastic visit, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was a 10/10. If you’re ever downtown looking for a happy hour spot, this is it.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here this weekend. The service and atmosphere was amazing, and the food was pretty good! but nothing super inventive. The tenderloin was cooked perfectly, and the sauces complimented the cut. The antipasto plate was well-portioned for the price and had a nice variety of cheese, and the halibut was flakey with a chimichurri that had a good kick at the end. I’ll definitely be back to try their happy hour

Visited the Roof last night for dinner and loved the the space, but that’s about it. The service was friendly, but not as great as other restaurants at similar price points. Same thing with the food; the Tomahawk was good but the sides were meh. Gotham and Victor have better steak and sides. The risotto was actually terrible; undercooked rice and no flavour.

(The Roof) Good and not super. The staff fit us in on a last min reservation so super happy with that. The two waitresses were amazing. Here's the bad... Bill was $350 (tip was$50) for the two of us (not complaining about the price) but, β€’our table was very flimsy and not stable. β€’the plastic chair where cold and very uncomfortable. β€’The bathrooms were freezing with no heat. β€’The food was good, but not $100 a plate kinda good. β€’We had to return one plate cause it was cold.( they did just give us fresh one and didn't reheat, (thank you for that?)). β€’the front greeting room was very dirty, We might try the other Restaurant down stairs yet, it more looked like a $100 a plate kinda atmosphere!
