The Health Foundation - Yorkton

The Health Foundation suggests the following language be used in your will if you wish to leave future gifts to the Foundation. Whether you are leaving a general or specific purpose bequest to the Foundation, we recommend the following wording be reviewed with your lawyer. 

Our legal name is The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan, Inc. Our charitable registration number is 88681 4698 RR0001.

General Purpose Bequest

Bequests received by the The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan, Inc. for general purposes are applied in accordance with the policies of the Board of Directors, having regard for the fulfillment of the donor’s aspirations and the needs of the Foundation. Such gifts may be made by way of cash, specified property or some or all of the residue of an estate.

Sample will language for general bequests is as follows:

To deliver, pay or transfer the sum of $_________________; my___________________________ (describe specific property); or ______% of the residue of my estate to The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan, Inc.

Specific Purpose Bequest

The Health Foundation may also receive bequests for specific purposes. It is recommended that donors seeking to arrange such gifts confirm with the Foundation that the intended purpose is appropriate and shall be suitably expressed. (See Power to Vary clause).

Sample will language for specific bequests is as follows:

To deliver, pay or transfer the sum of $______________; my__________________(describe specific property); or __________% of the residue of my estate to The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan, Inc. to be used for the purchase of medical equipment for palliative care at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.

or... 

To deliver, pay or transfer the sum of $______________; my__________________(describe specific property); or __________% of the residue of my estate to The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan, Inc. to be endowed in my name for the medical equipment needs of the Hemodialysis Unit, Yorkton Regional Health Centre.

or... 

To deliver, pay or transfer the sum of $______________; my__________________(describe specific property); or __________% of the residue of my estate to The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan, Inc. to be used for the purchase of medical equipment for the Intensive Care Unit at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.

Power to Vary clause recommended for specific bequests

We recommend that the following clause be part of the will:

If, at my death, the purpose to which I have designated my gift to The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan, Inc. is no longer feasible in the opinion of its Board of Directors, I authorize the Board of Directors to alter the purpose to a purpose that they, in their discretion, consider most closely fulfills the objects I intend to benefit.
