I’ve been to The Haam several times and have never been disappointed. You can’t go wrong with any of the tacos or the maki rolls. If I had to pick favorites, it would be the Gochujang Barbacoa taco, Carnitas taco, and anything with soft shell crab. Do be warned β€” they are all quite a mouthful. The appetizers are also delicious, especially the karaage and the korokke. The fries here are always perfectly crispy and I always order them despite not being a big wasabi fan. However, I would skip the dons here as there are so many better options on the menu. An added bonus is that they are also very accommodating for groups.

I went here for my birthday dinner on a Friday night and although we got to the restaurant at 7pm they did not seat us until almost 10pm. The only saving grace was how good the food was. Everything was made fresh and tasted amazing. I strongly recommend the fish tacos and any sushi order will leave you pleased. Definitely recommend, just not with a large group.

Hands down one of the few restaurants for me where the mains were as amazing as the apps!! We went with 3 types of tacos: soft-shell crab (soooo crispy yet so light?? The undisputed fave), baja fish (uniquely sweet and vinegary - amazing!!), and gochujang barbacoa (punch of flavour but a bit heavy, loved the crunchy shell!!). I would say I wish the guac was a bit more spread out so you dont get one big mushy bite at the bottom but honestly this is me being nitpicky, these tacos were so freaking amazing. I’m not sure if they used masa in their shells but I could rly smell the corn - just so delicious !!! ?‍?? The dish with the biggest surprise: scallop and beet sushi roll! The beets bring a sweetness, the scallops were tender and meaty, it was actually so addictive ? My other fave dish (v hard to choose just one ?) was the croquette!! Crispy on the outside, soooo fluffy on the inside, a bit of curry powder sprinkled in, and a creamy sauce that I couldnt quite place - oh my god. I don’t think I croquettes will ever be the same for me now!! The soft-shell crab dish was also up there on the list for me, crispy and addictive with the salsa and guac ? The corn (elote) was also amazing but I wish the sauce was a little thicker and coated the corn better. The torched nigiri were also amazing (flavour and freshness), but nothing unique about it. The sambal karaage was probably at the bottom only because it wasn’t crispy. The chicken was super juicy and tender, super unique and addictive flavour otherwise. Would have been an easy number 1 fave if the coating was crispy ? Overall, put this resto on your priority list - your taste buds will thank you!! Note that they don’t take resos and it was PACKED at 530 pm on a WED evening. Plan accordingly friends!! ? P.S. Shout out to the server that told us we ordered too much food ? We cleaned every plate and even had room for dessert!

Came here for lunch with some friends, their food is delicious! Their tacos are by far my favourite item on the menu, however they are a little hard to eat since they are so juicy (definitely not a bad thing)! Also ordered their takoyaki, karaage chicken and their sushi roll.

Mexican Japanese fusion with unique offerings and pairings. Fresh, quality ingredients and friendly service. I appreciate what they are trying to do with the fusion here but unfortunately it missed the mark for me. Some of the flavors just didn't fit with the food and felt as if they were there just to make it fusion. Some standouts were the soft shell crab, karaage, and oshizushi. The rolls, while tasting decent, were obscenely huge making them challenging to eat - either one massive bite that you spend 15 seconds chewing trying not to choke, or 2-3 bites and having the Maki fall apart. The size really took away from enjoying the flavors and eating experience. Tacos were also decent but definitely not their forte. I think some refinement in their offerings could make the Haam an excellent restaurant - the oshizushi and karaage was some of the best I've had in the city. Unfortunately from my experience with the rest of the items we orderd, there's a lot going on and not a lot going for it.

I ordered the yam signature roll which came with avocado, tempura bits and eel sauce on top. It was delicious! In fact all of the food I tasted was very yummy and good quality. Yes you can definitely find cheaper sushi in the city but if you’re looking for something more upscale with a good variety of flavour combinationsβ€” this is your spot! The signature rolls are range from $16-22. However they have regular rolls such as salmon, shrimp tempura etc. (in the second picture) which are around $6-9. So depending on what your budget is anyone could eat here. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their Mexican food too. Only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because the service could have been better. Additionally you have to take a very VERY steep staircase down to the bathroom, so beware. I fell down, and while I didn’t injure myself you definitely could!

I've dined here twice and both times were exceptional. We tried to order different items on both occasions to really get a taste of what was on their menu. Their shrimp tacos, bulgogi tacos and fish tacos are outstanding (especially the fish tacos!). Loved every bite of it even as leftovers the next day. I know some people say it's not the best but it's great and delicious to me! Their no.1 fries are okay.. not really anything special but they're crispy and well-seasoned.. same goes with the takoyaki ...also ok. Korokke and Jalapeno Sambal Karaage were delicious. Oshisushi and the Volcano Fiesta are so yummy! One of best I've had. Both times, they didn't have the Lobster Grande which was a bit of a let down. Spider Amarillo was too big and fell apart.. it also tasted okay. Green dragon roll was actually good because of the nice crunch the potato garnish added. Overall, the service could be better but we enjoy the food here. Price is what you would expect at a fusion restaurant so be prepared to spend a little.. but still quite affordable. Waitlist is always so long and it's always so packed so you know they're doing something right.

The food here was so good! Definitely a great spot to go with friends especially for dinner. I didn’t try any of their drinks but I did get the creamy korokke which was LOVELY !! The outside is nice and crispy and the inside was so creamy that it just kind of melts in your mouth. The dip also paired very well with it. I think that the spicy salmon roll was also pretty good! It’s not like exceptional but it’s pretty tasty! Pretty standard and similar quality to any spicy salmon roll you would get elsewhere. The carnita was good but nothing special. The flavours paired well together!
