★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a nice experience on in all. I like how the facade of the hotel looks like. The chandeliers and display were so pretty. Looks like a mansion. They have a welcoming dog which is so okay.
However, entering the room is not so welcoming. Very dark. There are dusts everywhere looks like it wasn't cleaned at all. Uneven floor surface. The walls of the room and elevator had some splashed or drip marks, looks like haven't been wiped for a long time. Bathroom had some molds, too.
If you do not mind this things then you are okay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This hotel forgot too mention to us of loud construction that sounds like its knocking on our window at 8:am. Not to mention this hotel overprices their room. Rooms are not terribly dirty but we did find a strand of hairs in our bath tub.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Right from the start this hotel was not as advertised AT ALL - Very, very, very old and dated.
Staff were parked right in front of the main entrance doors, three cars worth.
Parking was very hard to find for the guests due to the staff and whiskey bar.
The luggage carts were very old, hard to manover and tippy - hubby thought a wheel had fallen off trying to get it across the parking lot.
No assistance for luggage.
Room - table tops and side tables were not wiped and sanitized as you could visibly see smears and spots on them. bed was old, uncomfortable and saggy, jetted tub in bath did not work, tiles were broken. no luggage stands. the wall mounted heater was very, very noisy and kicked on and off all night like a fog horn - I advised the front desk for the sake of their guests do not put anyone in there (the maple room) until the heater is fixed. Not much sleeping here at all.
They advertised quiet soundproof rooms but the bathroom water must be all connected thru the floors, you can hear every toilet flush and shower running, toilet never stopped running even when jiggling the handle.
Asked staff for directions to the Harbour - told us it was south/north ???
Restaurant was closed for breakfast and lunch.
Construction started right beside hotel at 7 am
Such a disappointment, stay somewhere else ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Grand was a very friendly and accommodating place for myself and my grandson. We were very pleased and thankful they treated us well by allowing us to change our days three times.
My only complaint is the dust on the glasses and the placement of them in the washroom.

Got woken up at 7am by a dump truck that had his backing up alarm going to a full hour, lots of noise on top of that made it impossible to sleep. Lobby and lounge looked pretty nice, room looked like a super cheap highway motel decor. Very very poor and cheap. Much better places to stay in town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my 8 year old daughter for a girls night here on the weekend. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. My daughter was so excited to see there was a resident dog also. We lost hot water for a little bit (no big deal at all as this happens) but the wonderful lady at front desk was quick to action and very kind even though she was being given a hard time by other guests about it. Will definitely be returning. And remember people, be kind to people in the hotel industry. They are doing their best and being jerks to them doesn't help anything. Thank you Grand Hotel for giving my little girl the best weekend.
