★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ups and downs. One major down, was that I made an appointment and showed up, and had to wait half-an-hour while they served a walk-in that had come in right before me. I didn't have an hour to spend and had to make another trip.
Another down was not respecting a mask exemption.
There are other options in the city - Audio Ark on 109 Street, kept their appointment times, treated me like royalty, are were reasonably accommodating of the mask exemption.
That said, The Gramophone has some of the most knowledgeable staff in the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am very happy with both the product and service I received from The Gramophone. These people are knowledgeable, responsive and offer a fair price. You can phone them and ask product questions to a real person who knows what they are talking about you can't do that with online retailers.

The staff (Vince) was friendly and efficient. Even though I was not buying a pair of headphones that day, he spent 20 minutes sharing his knowledge on the wide variety of headphones with me. (Open back vs. Closed back, noise canceling operation, etc).
The store seems to be stocked with lots of high end items, but the staff are approachable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff are friendly, I have received excellent service from all of them. A great place in particular to buy headphones. From IEMs to over ears, great range of brands and selection. When I had a warranty issue with one pair, they took care of it well.
