Was just at the foot institute to have my first appointment at this clinic. Dr Schnoor is a good doctor but the receptionist/assistant was very abrupt and not as accomodating to my questions and cuts me off and very dismissive. I work in a medical field as well and I dont make our patients feel dismissed, but instead we take our time with them. Not a very good first impression. Left disappointed.

I’d like to say first that this poor review is purely because of the front desk staff, I wish I could give them zero stars. The doctor was nice, knowledgeable and professional. It’s so unfortunate the doctors have to be associated with a bad review because of the front desk staff. When I arrived I checked in and took a seat, I witnessed a lady paying, rescheduling and then the minute she left the front desk staff made fun of her for several minutes. For anyone to hear in the waiting area. It was so unprofessional, I nearly left. There’s no justification for that. Then! I heard them start harshly putting me down for simply forgetting my Alberta health care number. Name calling even! When I was sitting right there. They made the whole place so uncomfortable. And me so unsettled. And I didn’t even complain about their errors, see, originally I booked in last week. And when I called to confirm my own appointment they said my appointment didn’t end up entered in the system and that I’d have to wait another week to see the doctor. And I was understanding. (Good thing I called or I would have driven there for nothing last week.) Nobody signs up for bullying and drama on a trip to see a podiatrist. I shouldn’t be awkwardly sitting there listening to that. Such an awful experience. I’m just so appalled at the inappropriate behaviour, immaturity and cattiness of grown people in what’s supposed to be a professional setting. Unbelievable.

I have had two quite different experiences here. Night and Day. Dr. Young is excellent personable, and patiently explained exactly what was going on with my feet. I will focus on the positive and recommend Dr. Young if you decide to go here. Dr. Mandal seemed rushed, and didn't even look me in the eye until I told him I was looking for multiple sets of insoles.

Dr. Young has phenomenal bedside manner and was very personable, friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the procedure to me thoroughly and provided some of the best medical care I have ever received. Would definitely recommend him to others. Five stars for him. The clinic's reception desk, however, leaves much to be desired. The staff at the front desk were not friendly, and when I called to book my appointment, I was told I would need to come in for a consultation then make a second appointment where the procedure would be performed. So I was very surprised when I showed up for my initial consultation and had the procedure performed immediately after. I felt caught off guard (wrong shoes, immediate $600 bill, plans that evening, etc.) and it would have been helpful to know in advance and be prepared. It seems there was some miscommunication from their reception. Still, I went with it and was happy to have the procedure done.

At the Cochrane/Calgary location it is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. After my consultation, I required a foot scan. The foot scan machine was broken. Had to travel two weeks later to a different location to get my scan. After my scan and I paid $589 for my orthotics. Their printer was down so I had to travel my original location again to pick up my receipt. To only learn that they didn't even a my file. They created one for me on the spot. My Biomechanical report was blank. At that time I also learnt that my orthotics were not even ordered yet. Terrible unorganized company. I will never have anything to do with them again.

Very informative and thoughtful about the arthritis in my ankle. They made sure to answer all my questions and explained my options going forward. Thank you, Dr. Joshua Leavitt and Dr. Richard Mandal.

After suffering painful dry/cracked skin on my heels and feet for many years and trying everything. I finally gave in and went to The Foot Institute Edmonton; from the welcome at reception right through to the treatment with Dr. Todd Schnoor, my experience was nothing but excellent. I left feeling a thousand times better on my feet and would recommend The Foot Institute to anyone suffering from the same condition. Thank you!

I have bunions that need to be gone! When I saw Dr. Joshua Leavitt for my first consultation, he was super friendly and very confident in his ability as a foot surgeon. His method for bunion removal was such that I didn't require a knee scooter for six weeks. I honestly could not have made a better choice, and I plan for Dr. Joshua Leavitt to do my other foot shortly.
