★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can see the concept they were going for similar to Chef's Assembly Hall in Toronto it brings a new addition of shopping exclusivity which I appreciate to expose consumers to new companies and support the small business or discover new products. I do find the space was rushed in terms of design and sort of cramped the whole middle aisle should have been just for seating. In fact Holt Renfrew should be closed seeing as no one is ever in there and they should have constructed it in that area instead as there would have been more than enough space. The vendors are ranging in everything from delectable desserts to mouth watering quick bites or nostalgic candies. It should be seasonally appropriate though for example one's like soups during the warmer season not suitable and as for cafe's and tea there's enough option for that in the mall itself. Seeing as retail is suffering this new selection of food eateries and local artisan shops bring more traffic because people are more interested in unique purchases especially ideal to come here for gift shopping and food will always be in high demand. It's fresh and fun idea but the fish place smells horrible and should be replaced. I've tried the rosemary and sea salt bagel a must have $4.50, one of the box donuts a rose and pistachio one not much a fan of that, 6 of the bourgeois's those are to die for, and a plancha dish of quinoa and chicken that was sensational!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prices are expensive. I had a spaghetti bolognese and pop. It cost me 17+ dollars including the tax. Service was friendly however I had to repeat the order twice before it is punched into cash register.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Food District looks awesome and I'm looking forward to spending more time there.
For my first visit my wife and I ate at Blackjacks BBQ on April 2. We chose it in part because it was the only place with available seating at the time. The meal was good but not great. My smokey burger had a bit of a an ashy flavour and the calamari dish my wife had for lunch was too salty. We'll give them another try someday but we won't rush back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ultimate destination for any foodies.
The Food District is a good escape from the mall and into a world of great eats. Not only is this new "food court" beautifully designed, but it looks so different from the rest of the mall that it's like you stepped into a new place.
TFD reminds me a lot of the markets in Europe. The design is simple, yet quite beautiful. There are lots of options to choose from and restaurants cater to all tastes. My favorites include Dal Moro's Pasta, Pier 87 (for seafood), Danish Pastry House (the bread is great and they always have samples), Plancha (super cute place), to name a few.
They cater to all needs. Need desserts? They've got it. Looking for something light? There, you'll find it. Craving for a meal? You got it. Want to learn some new skills? They have classes for that! I also like that there's vegan options. Prices at the different vendors are a bit on the higher end, but it's totally worth it if you're looking for a treat once in a while or if you're looking for quality, freshness and no disappointments.
Classes offered here are great too. I attended a few and always had a great time.

Finally found a unique place in Canada ?? to eat good. There was live music ? a great atmosphere. We had hummus (you can see in the pictures) it was very good. If you are at the mall please come and visit The Food ? District too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the food options here. New patio space set up in parking lot is great! However, didn't see tables being cleaned after groups left the area. (Witnessed a few instances) Which was disappointing when they put little signs up at each table distinctly identifying which table was sanitized! Hope Square One will train their staff to actually clean between uses...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great selection of more local & trendier food vs the typical food court - big food chain variety.
You'll find most make their food on-site.
Some of my fav go-to's in this section are:
Patties Express (the line-up goes fast) - spicy chicken & veggie patties are avail, aside from traditional beef
BROD (compact version of Danish Pastry House) - coconut vanilla cake, almond paste chocolate triangles
Ray Woodeys Craft Chippery - potato chip flavours change, they've got taro chips too
Sweet Jesus - I love their vegan soft serve
The Pie Commission - perfect portable pot pies
