About The Flower Child
Taylor’s great grandparents, Theo & Helen Bosch started their market garden in the early 1940’s – selling fresh vegetables and gladiolas at the North End market.
In 1951, they went on to become the first chrysanthemum growers in Manitoba.
In 1965, Taylor’s grandparents, Julie & Dan Gyselinck took over and grew the business to include bedding plants, mums and poinsettias. Taylor’s dad Richard opened his bedding plant stand in Garden City in the early 1980’s, which Terence now successfully still runs 40 years later! Richard and his sister ran Riverside from 1991-2013. In 2014 the greenhouses moved north. Richard, Terence and Taylor still proudly grow quality plants together.
The Flower Child specializes in growing a wide range of annual bedding plants including tried and true favorites, as well as the ever changing new varieties, of both flowers and vegetables. We also carry succulents, houseplants, tropicals, perennials, shrubs, fruit & shade trees!
Taylor is also a licensed arborist. If you are looking for something that you do not see in our inventory list, please feel free to contact us with your inquiry as we love hearing from you! We grow for you!
