Founded in 1983 by members of our community who saw a gap in service and a need for professional, affordable counselling throughout Southwestern Manitoba, The Counselling Centre for Hope Healing and Encouragement Inc. has over 30 years of experience in therapeutic counselling. Incorporated in 1985-86 as Westman Pastoral Institute, our name was changed to Westman Interfaith Counselling and Education Centre in April 1993. In April 2003, it was changed once again to The Counselling Centre for Hope Healing & Encouragement Inc.

Counselling & Programs for Personal & Professional Crises

At The Counselling Centre, we offer many types of counselling and educational programs suitable for individuals, couples, families and groups who may be experiencing personal or professional crises, traumas or particularly difficult life transitions. As a United Way® Funded Agency, we’re dedicated to helping build stronger, more vibrant communities and healthier, more self-aware individuals. Managed by an Executive Director & a Board of Directors

The activities of the Centre are managed by an Executive Director, who is accountable to a Board of Directors. Comprised of individuals from our community who have been appointed for three-year terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms each, our Board is elected annually from our membership. Membership is open to individuals, corporations and churches within our community. Our Board of Directors meets the third Monday of the month during January, February, March, May, June, September, October and November, with a larger annual meeting every May.
