★ ★ ★ ★ ★ food and staff are very good. beer consistently on the warmer side and flat. wine also not that cold, i don't think they turn fridges up. they also run out of things, i think its just not good management.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love the fish and chips and the basket of onion rings. For the Liver and Onions, the potatoes were finely mashed while the liver was a bit too overcooked and not too fresh. Whereas the fish tacos were fine except for the fish which was not so fresh, which smelled weird. Other than that, great service, with really polite waiters!

I’ve tried the French onion soup, truffle fries, and fish & chips. Everything was really good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As soon as you enter the place you feel like being in England. The old country pub atmosphere is warmly welcoming so was it waiter.
Food was really good and well prepared a special note for the desserts even though I'm not really a sweet tooth the 3 my family had were amazing, particularly the lava cake.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Regrettable experience. Food wasn’t fresh - the Toad in a Hole was inedible: soggy sausages and stale Yorkshire pudding. Chicken wings were stale. There was one server for the fifteen people inside; however, she managed well considering what were clear cost cutting measures regarding food quality control and staffing levels. Kitchen staff were observed serving meals. When told the meal was poor, the server charged us for the meal. When told I would not pay for it, she provided a manager’s discount instead of a full refund. Poor client appreciation. We are local, and will spend elsewhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dropped by for lunch and the beef stroganoff was decent after waiting 30min for a single item. Heard a server talking about how she's still sick. I get that we're all over the pandemic but have the decency to wear a mask if you're serving the public.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In a word, very good. Been coming here since the early 80's. It's a home away from home, kind of pub. The way it should be. Impressive drink and main entry food selection. Great service and reasonable prices. You'll do right by yourself to stop by for a visit and enjoy a local gem and legend, on the Westside of Vancouver.
