★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place was very clean and the king size bed extremely comfortable. Service at the front desk was excellent and friendly. The pool was closed due to COVID precautions, but my overall experience here was a solid 5 stars. It is on the high end of the spectrum when it comes to what I am willing to pay for a night in a hotel, priced at 200 dollars give or take taxes in, but I assessed that it was worth it based on my comments above.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean room. Quiet area. Motel is within walking distance to most restaurants/pubs, stores. Comfortable bed. Mini fridge with a small freezer compartment. Microwave. Iron & ironing board. Room safe & oscillating fan. Shampoo & bar soap. 4 cup coffee maker with non dairy creamer & sugar. Complimentary continental breakfast starts at 0600am. * Room was provided by my employer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently visited Port McNeill and stayed for two nights at the Black Bear Resort. I was so pleased with the accommodations provided at Black Bear Resort that I wanted to write a review. The room we had was spotless, roomy, nicely decorated and homey, had everything you could need during an overnight stay and the bed was so comfortable. The view of the harbour from the resort was an added bonus and the staff were friendly and helpful in recommending places to eat. Between the good sleep and the good food, we had a very enjoyable stay in Port McNeill.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nothing special here. Post covid hasn't happened at this place. Rooms are plain, beds are lumpy and you can hear the people talking in the next room. The continental breakfast consists of toast, jam, yogurt, granola bars and cold boiled eggs. They really need to step it up and get their pool, gym and breakfast going. I've stayed in many motels over the years and at this point I won't return here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stay here a dozen times a summer and early spring. It is clean and comfortable. The staff is excellent and always available to help with access to groceries, fuel and other services offered in the community. I will be back again this summer and suggest it to all my kayaking guests. Highly recommended.
