★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I could not have asked for a better experience. I was greeted by friendly, accommodating staff. My appointment was with Dean. Even prior to my appointment he called to do a brief consult as I was donating 10 inches of hair and then wanting the underneath layer of my hair dyed bright blue for a fundraiser I am participating in. I was quite nervous but once I got there I immediately felt relaxed. The cute vintage decorations create such a comforting environment. I left the salon with a foot less of hair, and a hell of a lot more confidence. The best hair cut/colour/styling experience I have ever had. Hands down.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came in for a simple layer and left with a mullet.. when the stylist went to make the first cut I told her it was way too much but she “didn’t hear me” and did it anyways. Left with heat damage and crispy ends. Called Saturday and was told no one could help me and to call back on Tuesday.. they offered to cut more off and put me on hold for 10 minutes before the line “disconnected” and then my phone calls wouldn’t go through after that, so when I showed up to the salon in tears it took 2 people to offer me a refund on the cut but couldn’t do anything to help me fix my hair which now needs extensions just to look even worse than it did before it was cut. I tried to resolve the issue in person but it was unsuccessful..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've had severe anxiety about getting my hair cut for over 6 years after a disastrous experience when I was about 15. I was very nervous coming here even after all of my researching but Dean was so kind and understanding that I felt so calm during my appointment! He talked me through everything that he was going to do beforehand, LISTENED to me (which sadly no stylist I've seen ever has), and made sure I knew what he was doing throughout the whole cut. It was such a wonderful experience - Dean really knows his stuff about curly hair! My hair feels and looks fantastic (I haven't gotten it cut for 2 years) and not once did I ever feel like I wasn't in control of what was being done to my hair. 10/10 I will absolutely be back again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been getting my hair cut and styled by Kaley for at least 5 years now and have only good things to say! From giving me bangs, to blonde balayage, to cutting off 10+ inches of my hair and maintaining my regular trims, she is awesome! I trust her with my hair more than I trust myself! The beauty parlour is always an amazing salon and environment to be in and I always leave feeling relaxed and beautiful! I recommend this place to everyone!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited The Beauty Parlour for the first time last week. What a cool place. Vintage chic interior gives the place a very cool vibe. The very friendly staff take your coat and offer tea/ coffee/ water while you wait. They have a fully stocked product wall and the staff will make recommendations specific to the goal you are trying to achieve. I will definitely be back! I saw Desiree and as a curly girl herself, she was able to offer me great advice on my curl type and gave me an updated style that I am loving so far!
Edit to update: this place is still amazing! Dean does great hair and has a great sense of humour! Covid has put a temporary stop to the coffee service but the conversation and atmosphere are very chill and welcoming. Try them out!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Beauty Parlour is a vintage looking salon with good professional staff and good products that I did not know. It is very convenient for me and I found the price and quality of service well balanced. I was also offered a bang trim for free once! (Once I was charged 85$ at Evelyn Charles just to shorten my bang!!!!) The finish and blowdry could be more accurate. But this is in common with all the salons I visited here in Edmonton (I.e.: Aveda and Evelyn Charles)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ladies at the front were quick to act and friendly! First time curly cut client at the salon and with Gabby! She is kind and down-to-earth to match her cool curls! She seemed a little nervous and forgetful, but caught herself quick with positive energy! She dry cut/cleaned up my ends at each curl and I loved that she did that with detail and precision! (Curly hair should always be cut dry - it's the right way!) Thoroughly impressed, so I prebooked with her for my next 3 month trim! Looking forward to awesome experiences with them in the future!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Des and Dean and all the staff I've interacted with are absolutely gems. From the moment you walk-in you'll feel at home. Dean and Des have always listened to what I wanted, managed to fix a very unique attempt at cutting my own bangs, weird postpartum baby hairs, and somehow make me feel and look fabulous despite my vague directives such as "surprise me".
