very nice and fun place to visit! but it is closed in winter (the climbing area) so not as fun in winter. But it is still fun to walk around at and maybe have a picnic on the benches.

Lovely landscaping all around, walking paths everywhere, multiple benches, a large gazebo, and garbage/recycling bins available.

The Arboretum and Heritage Orchard, located in Markham, Ontario, Canada is a beautiful outdoor space that connects with the hiking trails and the Victoria Square Park nearby. It’s a large green space perfect for people to exercise and take a walk. This is a historical area as long time ago, this is home to the Orchard. But now, there is no orchard but surrounded by new subdivisions and communities around the area. This area has a nice gazebo structure and someone left a cute goat sculpture in the trail, which is very cool.

October 2021 3.5★ a nice park, but more importantly a nice small public orchard with apples for picking. Though honestly, not that many are picked and a lot have just fallen off to the ground. The Klinck family farmed this heritage homestead in Victoria Square continuously for over 100 years, 1843 until 1950. The farm's orchard produced a variety of apple, plum, pear and cherry trees. Many rare species continue to grow in the same locations which are now the Cathedraltown Arboretum and Heritage Orchard. The Orchard has been replanted with over 20 heritage species, including the Spitzenburg apple. The Orchard's original grid has been restored. The Klinck family lands south of the Orchard were used as a playing field for the enjoyment of the entire community. This is a treasured chapter in Markham's rich heritage.

The park is on the south side of Victoria Square Park and Community Centre Victoria Square Church and cemetery are to the north east. Tall trees scatter sparsely. These facilities integrate together providing a large tranquil green open space for nearby residents. The large lawn and tall trees on the periphery of Victoria Square Park is ideal for picnicking in the short summer time. While in the long windy winter month ahead, the loneliness can be felt under overcast sky and deserted snow cover trail. updated rating 5 Oct 2021. Mid Jan 2022 update rating. Mid Mar, 2022. A shot of the unrelenting winter.
