About The Apex Academy
Our 4000 square foot facility is equipped with 20 dog grooming stations, clipper-vac systems, & tub room. The cat area is in a separate area. Students experience the best in cat groom equipment with Catty Shak Vacs, to cat-appropriate stainless steel tubs and tables.
All theory classes for both dogs and cats are done in a second-floor classroom, equipped with grooming tables and a projector for instruction.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am just currently finishing my Dog Grooming schooling, i am very happy I chose the Apex Academy for my school, the Instructors are always amazing and very knowledgeable , the staff are pleasant to work around and everyone is always proud of what they accomplish, the manager of Zoom Zoom is an amazing lady and i cant forget the front desk receptionist and teachers . its a good vibe being at Zoom Zoom Groom for cats and dogs, also going to the school (Apex academy)
I am very happy i picked here and i highly recommend if you want to further your career or job in dog or cat (or both)Grooming you should look into this schooling.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is not much 1 on 1 training. You spend a lot of time waiting around for someone to come help you. There are 1-2 instructors for 6 students. Didn't get any teaching on faces. (Which is the most important part because you want your dog to be cute) Didn't get to do a standard poodle or a bishon. Spend half the course doing bath and brushes for the company. Basically learn on your own. Very very difficult to transition to a grooming workplace, which is frustrating becaue website states you will be "ready to open your own shop or work in a salon" Didn't teach us about time factor how to get faster. Would not recommend this school. Too expensive for lack of teaching. After completing the course it turns out I actually had no idea about the grooming industry - how salons work. etc. very disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would not recommend this school at all. Over priced and you do not get the hands training needed .You are expected to learn on your own. There are only 2 instructors for group classes of 6 max.Not only do they have to do their full days of grooming but are also expected to try and help the students. They are not bad instructors but are not on the same page. One will tell you one thing and the other will tell you its wrong. Very confusing at the end of the day. They do NOT have any understanding of how to teach a student that has difficulties learning and do not know how to explain/teach in more ways than one and end up doing the work for you. You spend more time working for free for them bathing and brushing dogs,especially for other groomers. Practicum tests. More often than not the students have never done one of the grooms before their practicum because of lack of training.They tell you its a failproof course but its not. They tell you at the end you are a certified groomer. You are not. Only through them. Do not be deceived. This course may teach you the basics of grooming and show you the tools necessary for grooming but at the end of the day it is overpriced for what you do not receive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a lot of information to cram into 4 months, i would recommend doing the quick start program so you do all the theory beforehand, so you have a good understanding of things when you get to them in the hands-on part of the course.
Overall, i have a pretty good understanding of the grooming process, i got to work with some of the sweetest puppers and i’m glad that i took the course at the Apex Academy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had our dog, Dakota, groomed for the first time. He is a long haired dog, and had a lot of deep mats. He didn’t like us brushing him, so we were concerned with how he would do. They took AMAZING care of him, and said he was good for them, which to me shows how comfortable they made him feel. He looks like a completley different dog. All of his mats are gone, and his fur is so soft. He was so happy and excited when we picked him up and I know he loved the students. I cannot express how thankful we are that these students took such great care of him and made him look amazing. He was there the entire day, and our total ended up being $100. This is the best $100 I ever spent and we’re so excited to keep taking him back! Thank you to all the students who worked with him, and thank you to the teachers who made such great students. If you’re someone looking for amazing grooming at an even more amazing price, I wouldn’t even think about going anywhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am finishing my course at Apex Academy, and it was a great choice. It was difficult at times due to the vast amount of information I needed to absorb and retain, and the busy pace. Despite often feeling overwhelmed, I felt supported when I expressed this. Connie, the teachers and other staff were accommodating and fielded my many questions and concerns along the way. I'd recommend this course to anyone interested in grooming, but to be sure to come prepared to speak up when questions arise, since it is a very busy place. Students are closely supervised but not babysat! The staff is very much a family and it really shows in how supportive they are of one another and of the students. I'm very happy to be a graduate of this program.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took the Canine all inclusive program, Jenna and Sarah taught me, and it was amazing the girls are so nice and helpful. I feel I really got a good grasp and base for grooming. I can’t imagine anyone ever learning to groom in a shorter amount of time!! Everything I learned I found every bit of it valuable for becoming a groomer. I believe it will now be Sarah and Yufei teaching who are amazing! I would highly recommend if you are thinking of taking the course, do it!!! Worth every penny :-)
