★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Usually music is just OK, but theme nights can be a lot of fun. Bar staff is super friendly but drinks are on the expensive side. Dance floor is big enough for the place, no much sitting space so be there early if you want a booth

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to go and see one of your favourite bands or performers. The stage isn't huge, but the pit/dancefloor space is surprisingly big. No food is served (at least when I've gone on band nights) but the drinks are cold, cheap, and delicious. The bathrooms could always be a little cleaner, but if you're looking for an affordable venue to see live music look no further.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love what they've done with this space. Alot more open now with some nice seating. Beer selection is ok and cocktails are nice. Lighting setup is good but the sound system is really lacking. It's in need of a serious upgrade. Would love to see this place host more electronic music.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was sad that zaphods closed down but I'm glad they renovated and made the 27 club. It doesn't quite have the rustic feel of zaphods but some of the elements are still there. It is nice and the renovations were done right to make the place seem even bigger. Nice job!

Over the past few years, a good number of my top magical-memorable nights out were here. They do neat theme nights (Emo Night, MOD NIGHT, etc.) and their music choice (Blondie, the Eurythmics, Dexy's Midnight Runners, to name a few) is nothing short of sublime.
The decor is retro-cool and the people are even cooler. The 'interesting' freshman crowd and club 'ladies' (you know, the type that picks fights with the bouncer) stay away, which is nice too. They even let people dance on the stage and release confetti from time to time!
Plus there are a LOT of good-looking people who go there, if that aligns with your interests....
The only people I met in real life who didn't like this place were either liars or losers, but clearly, I am biased.
Next time I'm in town, I'll see you there ;)
