We are Sherwood Park's Original Bar-B-Q Smokehouse Restaurant serving down-home, southern comfort food. We are locally owned and operated and we are dedicated to perfecting the pitmasters art of "low and slow" Bar-B-Q. Our smokers, affectionately named "Jake" and "Elwood", are fed nothing but seasoned B.C. apple wood. The right combination of smoke and our own spice rub allows us to serve our meat "naked" or un-sauced so you can taste the authentic, "True Q" flavour, before slathering on one of our three housemade Bar-B-Q sauces. Many of our meats are smoked for up to 18 hours, so that means we're smokin' while yer sleepin'! Our homestyle sides have the freshest ingredients, made daily. We serve Certified Angus Beef and top-grade Alberta protein, so you know it's good. Our casual dining atmosphere, traditional butcher's wax paper 'n all, means you get quick service, not fast food. The Pitmaster and Owner - Bruce St. John
Bruce is extremely passionate about good food, done right. We are very proud to be serving tested and true, authentic Southern Bar-B-Q recipes. He has traveled to Southern Illinois and Missouri and trained with 3 time world champion BBQ Pit Master, Mike Mills, to bring Sherwood Park the best and most authentic smoked meat. You'll see him at the restaurant most days working alongside a team that is working hard to give the best southern experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pulled potato with pork was incredible. The bark pieces, could really get the smoke flavour, but the rest of the meat had a mild smokiness, which I prefer. Potato was baked to perfection, pickles nice and crisp, with a good vinegar bite. Slaw was really good too, I like mine a bit more creamy, but definitely not complaining about it here. The HOT bbq sauce gave it just the right kick to it. Spicy, but very flavorful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am sorry to leave such a low rating but the brisket sandwhich with cornbread was really bad. The staff were awesome, the service was great, the place is very clean and well done inside. But the food was bad. The brisket was dry and flavorless like cardboard. I want my 20 bucks back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My favorite place to grab takeout in the Park. The brisket is amazing and the pulled pork is great too. My insanely picky kids love it also so this saves me on nights I don’t want to cook. The owner is so kind and friendly, always with a welcoming smile. I just love this place!

The brisket was awful - dry and stringy(not sliced) with no choice for point, unless you like to drown your meat in sauce.
The pork side ribs were decently moist, not bad.
*Had this place cater an event 5 years ago, so I must have liked it at some point

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is a fast casual type place with a few options for meats. (Pork, Brisket, Turkey, Ribs)
The meat is pretty good I didn’t really get too much of the smoked taste from the pulled pork. They have 3 choices for sauces they are all really good and have a strong Smokey flavour.
The coleslaw was runny and watery. I didn’t really care for it I much prefer creamy and tangy.
Overall it’s pretty average and makes a good work lunch out.
