I go to the restaurant almost every week. I like their Sambar Vada, Podi Idli, Idli 65, Masala Dosa. I take filter coffee with my every order but sometimes it just tastes different and can taste the raw milk in the coffee. Apart from that, I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to have a decent south indian food.

Tried their Idli65, Samosa chaat, South Indian filter coffee & masala Chai. Talking about the restaurant it's easily accessible - very close to Plamondon metro station. The restaurant itself is clean & staff are polite. Their service is pretty fast too. Talking about the food - their Samosa chaat & filter coffee were excellent. However, Idli 65 & Masala Chai were average. Price are reasonable & their serving size is pretty decent. Definitely recommend going there for South Indian food.

Got my order almost after 40 minutes (got to know because the waiter forgot to punch the order in system and left for the day), of chicken biryani in which chicken was dried and rice was burnt. waited another 20 minutes for Mysore Dosa. The quantity was decent as compared to other restaurants. Will not go again worst experience ever. I was so famished and starved to death

I was hoping to find puchka, in which I was confirmed by messenger that they have. But when I arrived there, the waitress said they don't have. The food was good, first time eating south Indian food so I can't compare. 48$ for 1 person, for all dishes in the pictures. A but pricey though

Tasty food. A group who came after us got the table early as they knew someone at the restaurant. At that moment, i was sure that I'm in an authentic Indian restaurant.

See most recent visits below. Old to new... Since this is a new year and restaurants are still closed for dine-in, we ordered about 2 hours before we wanted to pick up our food. When we arrived we had to wait 20 minutes before our food was ready. Don't know why since we did give them enough time to prepare the 3 dishes. Let's start with the Curry Shrimp. It was very good. The shrimps were a nice size, not huge, in a slightly spicy curry sauce. Then there was the Curry Lamb. Won't be ordering that again. The tiny pieces of lamb were dried out and rubbery. It almost tasted like goat. The sauce was very disappointing. The menu description says lemon and raisins with other stuff. No lemon taste and definitely no raisins. Last, but not least, was the Chicken Kothu, amazing. Our favorite dish from this restaurant. The staff is very polite and service is usually better. Everyone one has an off day but this is now the second time they are off. We will go back once we can eat in the restaurant. They specialize in Dosa and Idly but that's more for breakfast or even lunch. Feb 2022 - We finally are eating in the restaurant and it's not going well. We ordered 3 dishes. Kothu, curry chicken, and a paneer dish. We got the Kothu. It got cold before we got the other dishes. Hurray. It finally came. The only problem was the Chicken curry was not hot. So we had 2 lukewarm dishes and one hot dish. Disappointing. April 2022- The food is good but the service is getting worse and worse and the portion size, smaller and smaller. Once again we asked for our 3 dishes to be served at the same time. They were not until I made a fuss. But it didn't seem to faze the waiter. I told him that the owner had promised it would not happen again. But it did. I don't think he even told anyone because he may not have understood the issue. I think it will be a long while before we go back and eat here. Too bad because the food is good. May 2022- Nothing has improved in the last month since our last visit. Portion size is getting smaller and the service is getting worse. The number of stars has gone from 4 to 2. We will find somewhere else to eat Indian food. Sorry guys but...

First visit to Thanjai, with friends who patron the place frequently. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Service-wise, the staff who took our orders seemed new. She kept getting the orders wrong despite us having repeated it several times, but at least she came back to check a few times so everything was served correctly in the end. Will be visiting again!

We're a group of 10 peeps who visited this place recently. We almost tried all the dishes, nearly all the dishes were perfect except a few, and they are: Gobi Manchuria( Too sweet) Veg Manchurian Dosa ( They just put gobi Manchuria along with a few veggies on top of it. Instead, I was expecting the true veg Manchuria) Chicken Dosa: ( It would be great if you could replace Chicken Dosa with Chicken Keema Dosa as you have it in your Ottawa Branch) as it would be easier to eat. Overall, it was great food, and the service was quick. Appreciate all your efforts.
