The bread is pretty expensive but not bad. If you pay by credit card the machine asks if you want to tip, beginning at 15%. It’s difficult (deliberately???) to key in No. I don’t consider it necessary or proper to give a tip just for the staff to hand over a loaf of bread. The young lady who served me looked distinctly displeased when I said no tip. The owners should change the machines.

The staff were unorganized and the loaf of sourdough we bought was almost burned on the top and bottom. I thought we were getting the one on display which looked perfect but they took one from the back so it was deceiving and not what I asked for.

Inside Granville Island, I was drawn to the delicious-looking double-baked almond croissant...a bit pricy at $5.95 and smaller than one at another bakery in the public market, but Terra Breads has a great rep. It was nice and crispy, flaky and had enough almond paste. Just a bit too sweet...

Blueberry white chocolate flatbread is amazing. The white chocolate caramelizes on the edges into a very unique flavour. The scones are wonderful. True scones not a sad immitation. I prefer the savory but always get both. Finally all the bread loaves are excellent. The green olive or sourdough is my most purchased. But the truly transcendent loaf is the cheese. A cheese bread that actually tastes cheesy! Makes excellent cheese toasties or a simple breakfast with eggs. Yum!

Good selection of the breads and bakery, a bit pricey compared to what you can get outside the Granville island. The most annoying part of the experience is the check-out. If you use credit card, the machine ask for 15% tips, and they made it difficult to select NO during the transaction process. Since when tips are required for buying just one piece of bread?

Their baked goods looked so good, had to give a couple of them a try! Purchased their Blueberry Bread and Cinnamon Cardamom Cruffin (given rave review by a patron behind me in line). The cruffin was nice and flakey, the flavour was subtle and the cardamom wasn't overpowering. The blueberry bread was more chewy and dense, almost danish like. It was given to me a little burnt around the edges and bottom (see picture - I didn't see the product being bagged and only saw when I took it out at home), but had a generous amount of berries. They're a bit on the pricier side for baked goods, but it's to be expected and the ingredients are of high quality.

This has been one of our favourite bakeries to choose when we are on Granville Island..today we ordered a scone, croissant and muffin.. then sat in the seating area using the stairway to the 2nd floor landing just north of Terra Bread..great views..

Good selection of the breads and bakery, a bit pricey compared to what you can get outside the Granville island. I also tried their toogoodtoogo app for their surprise food gift and the selection is surprising. A loaf of bread, 2 cheese buns and chocolate croissant for 6.99. Not a ton of savings; and I thought I'm getting special bread selection. not really!
