Tecnic driving school

The receptionist was very very rude. She didn't care about my class and told me to go to other school to the point that I got mad and canceled the class. Thanks for that ??

If I could rate this place 0 star, I would. If you want a terrible experience this is your go to place! Staff is very rude especially on while I am driving. At my final exam, one of the staff keep criticizing how terrible I drive instead of evaluating me.

Truly one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I requested an attestation in order to change to a driving school that was closer to me, that had a lot more course availabilities than tecnic and offers classes in English. Anglophones beware, this school claims to provide courses and services in English, however good luck finding English courses or even speaking to someone on the phone in English, it’s a struggle. I was informed by the AQTR (Association Québécoise des transports) that an attestation was simply a printed and signed record of all completed courses, however tecnic chose to stretch it to the maximum 10 business days they are legally entitled to due to the fact they were unhappy I was withdrawing from their school. The school phoned to say that my attestation would be ready to pick up on the Wednesday, however I received a call the same day saying the person who was supposed to have brought my attestation to the downtown location did not show up, so I would yet again have to take time out of my day the following day to go all the way downtown to pick up a printed paper. As I was already almost at the downtown location the following day, I get a call saying that they have “misplaced my file” which is funny because anytime they want payment, they’re quick to find my file. I was then told that if I wanted to have my attestation (which they had already promised a day earlier) then I would have to go all the way to the Langelier tecnic location or else I would have to wait again until the following week to pick it up at a location near me. I wanted to never deal with them again, so I went all the way to the Langelier location to pick up my attestation, despite being inconvenienced now for the 3rd time. Once I got there to retrieve my documents, I had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with a “Chantal” who greeted me with an eyeroll. She was aggressive, rude and would not assist me unless I spoke to her in French. When I asked her why it was necessary for me to come all the way to the Langelier location when I had signed up at the downtown location, she was quick to tell me that it was my choice to come all the way there despite it being their mistake; absolutely no accountability. This school is classless and frankly a joke, I would not recommend either of these tecnic locations and would not wish this nightmare on anyone.

I hated this driving school in every single way. They charge you for 'reactivating a contract" which is literally making a click on their behalf, they charge you 50$ if you miss a theorical or driving class which clearly let me tell you guys, you don't learn nothing from the teachers. But 50 bucks for a missed class?! Its clearly a scam cuz these "professionals" arent worth 50$ the hour. But when it come to one of them changing or canceling the class there's no problem there. The driving classes are completely a waste of time in here, the instructors practically are there to make sure you have practiced at your own time and feel like they did something in that small hour. And finding classes available is a pain. I just hated having to deal with Tecnic and still had to do it cuz I paid 1100$ +. And the useless book they obligatory charge 60$ for is just the most useless book I have come to have in hand in a school. Never used it. Still aced my exam on saaq. And easily can find it for 5$ or free but they still charging for it. DONT GO TO THIS SCHOOL.

Took courses with Ivan for manual transmission courses. An excellent teacher, very patient, knows the area well to help with certain skills. I started my courses with 20 years of experience in automatic transmission, 30 years of experience with Nintendo et al., and maybe 2 hours of informal manual transmission training. I had a good base of experience going in, so it was only a small step up to learn good driving, almost like learning how to parallel park after learning how to reverse. For those of you concerned about parallel parking, it's only a continuation from reverse parking. Reversing is a difficulty of 4 out of 10, parallel parking is only a special kind of reversing, a difficulty of only 5 out 10 :)

Imagine having to get off from work early, paying a taxi/uber to get to the practice class in time just to wait in front for almost an hour with no teacher in sight. Tried to call with no answer after an hour. Going out because it's getting ridiculous, I see a tecnic car with a teacher inside. He's telling me "that I had to wait in front of the entrance and not in front of the Tecnic shop" when there's not a single sheet of paper telling it (mind it is my first time at that location so how should i know ?!). So roughly it's like being told that the teacher was too lazy to do 10 steps to check if there's someone waiting in front of the shop. So now I've lost roughly 100$, time and a nice waiting line of 3 month to be able to retake the course.

Great school for driving. The staff and instructors were all very good. I took some practice sessions with Krim on the morning of my exam which helped a lot. I now have my driver’s license. Thank you Tecnic!
