The appetizers and salads were outstanding. The pasta courses were hit-and-miss to be honest, but the five stars is for Vijay, our waiter. He is a great host who took great care of our large and noisy party. Thanks Vijay!

Great menu and food was divine. Ambiance was great for families and for couples. Love the free bread as starters, it was crispy and cheesy. Enjoyed my lamb with rissoto, lamb was buttery and soft, cooked to perfection! Food and beverage manager, Marc made our dining experience extra special but ensuring that my two boys had an enjoyable time as well.

If it wasn’t for the great (bordering on over attentive service) this would be a two star review. The food was very average and wouldn’t recommend. They have some really quality issues. The Lobster ravioli was a joke - the ravioli was different amounts of done and the sauce was a different temperature. Even the spaghetti meatballs were off (a staple), the spaghetti was swimming on the plate in a watery tomato sauce. I may have just written the Rosseau off as having terrible food but the Muskoka Chophouse was excellent.

Considering it’s one of the fancier restaurants in the resort, you will have to make a reservation with the concierge at least a day ahead as they are limiting the capacity due to Covid 19. It’s nice to know the on the day before or day of, they will call your room to reconfirm your reservation at the restaurant. Upon arrival, the process is simple. You tell them your room number and reserved time, and they will lead you to your seat. The menu option isn’t that huge, which can be good for some people if they have a hard choice deciding what to get. They also have a kids menu which is pretty good,$13 and they can get a side, main, drink and dessert. There are also vegetarian/vegan options as well. Overall, the food tasted nice, and also nicely presented as well although quiet pricey. My favorite dish of the night surprisingly was the fried beets as it was made to be lightly crispy. We had an issue with the tiramisu as the bottom of it was pretty hard which is an indication that it wasn’t fresh. We were able to get it refunded, but it was definitely a turn off. We were alittle uncomfortable as a stroke of luck, we ended up with the same server we complained about during our first visit to the resort. Every other server and staff was wearing a mask, but ours was just wearing a face shield which wasn’t too reassuring considering he was very tall, so his spit can still come down. We will probably not be returning to this restaurant, and will probably stick to cooking in our rooms should we ever book the resort. IG: Ayenomz

Very good food, beautiful atmosphere and amazing service. One of our party ordered wings and they weren’t ready with the rest of our food so the server brought her a free caesar salad and fries to munch on while she waited. When her wings arrived they were a little overcooked. So when the server asked she told him. When the cheque arrived they also dropped off a takeout order of freshly made wings. Great service!

Best restaurant in the JW Hotel - Pastas and Pizzas make it very family friendly. If you want a pasta not on the menu - just ask the waiters and they'll get it made for you, if it's possible! Lamb ragu was a standout, Beet carpaccio did not have many beets and it was mostly salad (which is fine but the name is misleading. Pizzas and pastas was well sized and waiters were very friendly!

This place has real potential, it’s a shame it’s got such bad reviews. Some stuff is really on point and others are … eh. Ex. The lamb ragout was GREAT. The lobster ravioli was not so great. The antipasto board was solid. Tons of food and tasty, although not the best presentation. The drinks were fun, crazy expensive mind you. I think if they dropped their prices by 10-15% it would also help with getting better reviews.
