One of his employees, delivered the wood but one of the boxes was in a different color packaging and it had already been opened. When I asked why, he told me that he had this one box in his warehouse and the rest were new. I didn't fuss over it. When my contractor started installing the wood, he realized he had over-calculated how much hardwood I needed, so I had 13 extra boxes (approx $1500 worth of wood). The wood was beautiful and I could have tried to sell the extra boxes online or to a friend, or even just kept them myself. Unfortunately I contacted Fred, the owner of the store, who very politely agreed to take it back and sell the wood for me. Then he avoided my calls and never returned any of my messages. When I finally did get hold of him, he tried to convince me that he doesn't owe me anything and the guy he sold my wood to, never paid him. I am just about to contact a lawyer. I hope nobody else has to go through as much trouble as I did. I just bought another home and need 3000 sq feet of hardwood. I love mercier wood, but I will definately not be going back to TDI..

He far exceeded every deadline he had given us for flooring arrival and install time. There products are by far superior to others we've seen, and the cost is extremely reasonable. The owner recommended Mercier Hardwood and they had a huge selection of colours to choose from. The quality of the hardwood was excellent and the service from Fred and his installers were excellent. Needless to say the price was competitive. I shopped around and compared to other people he was the supplier and the installer and I received excellent service from TDI Design and Improvement. Thanks Fred for the beautiful floors.

Fred also allowed me to take samples to my place to get a feel for the finished product to help me decide. Great Service! His team ripped out the old flooring in a few hours, and finished the new flooring the next day. Work was done quickly and well

He will take the time to answer all your questions, make suggestions, clarify any doubts or concerns you may have and he will do whatever is necessary to resolve them in the quickest time possible. After the job is completed he will return and take care of any touch ups. He's positive, friendly, professional and a pleasure to work with. I'm so glad I chose Tdi flooring to do my flooring. Their prices were comparable and less expensive than many other places I called. I was able to get a better price on the same product I'd have spent quite a bit more on at other flooring stores/companies. I live in mid-town Toronto where the flooring stores can be quite expensive. Let me tell you it was worth the drive to Richmond Hill to work with this company. From beginning to end, I can't think of one complaint. I would recommend them to my family/friends in a heartbeat. read less

He is a soft spoken and kind man who genuinely cares about helping people make their homes beautiful. I got several quotes and TDI came in lower than the others but the quality of their flooring options is excellent. Fred was able to schedule us the week we wanted and his team of installers arrived on time, were polite and very efficient. They took good care of our home by putting down drop clothes to cover our other floors and cleaned up at the end of both days. They installed new hardwood floors and baseboards in our second level and both look incredible. We are absolutely pleased with our decision to use TDI and will definitely be recommending them!
