About Taber Adult Learning
I guess I’m what you would call a true Taberite. I was born, raised and continue to live in this wonderful community.
My first full-time job was in the newspaper industry where I started as a graphic artist at The Taber Times. I held many different positions, with the last four years as general manager of five weekly newspapers in the Southern Alberta Newspaper Group, and the final year as the publisher.
After 42 years in print media, I decided it was time for a change and in September of 2017, I joined Taber Adult Learning.
This move has certainly given me an education and appreciation of a wide range of diverse cultures from all walks of life. I love the daily interaction with people and find myself often humbled listening to their stories and struggles. It is extremely gratifying to be able to celebrate their successes, whether it is GED, citizenship, CELPIP or any of the classes offered.
When I’m not working, I can be found puttering in the yard and garden. Is there anything better than a homegrown tomato or cucumber? What makes my soul smile is spending time with family, including my four grandsons. We enjoy camping and spend lots of time fishing. When winter hits you will find me at my favorite place – a hockey rink, watching my grandsons play.
