T & A Rock Works Inc. - Kelowna

Great bunch of guys

Please reinforce safe driving habits to your employees. They drive as explosive as the work they are involved in. Have a chat with the aggressive driver that drove vehicle 06 on June 5, 2019.

T & A Rock Works Inc. was contracted in to do scaling , rock works and drilling for our highways project . experienced, efficient, reasonable and our company will keep using them for future works!

I was employed by Mike at T&A rock works and was forced out of the company. I was a full time employee of 1 year. He replied me with out any reason to why. I have tried to get ahold of him for weeks now with no reply. Iv never felt so disrespect from a boss/owner in my life. I found him to be very immature and very unprofessional for not returning my texts and calls and for not explaining to why he made such a decision to why he does not want me as an employee. I would walk 40min to work every day to be there for 5:00A.M start so not to be late. I have a child to look after and Bill's to pay and yet he couldn't give me full time work and a reason too why he had no work for me. He treated me as I was a child and that I was expendable!!!!! I have no clue to why when I talked highly of his company when asked where I work in and was proud to be apart or the T&A family/Team.

I live 600m from the Oyama pit where T& A does the blasting. For some geological reason, my house takes a major shock wave from at least half of their blasts. Last time it knocked pictures down, rattled dishes in the cupboards and made the living room floor visibly move a millimetre or two up and down a few times. So I contacted them and they said they would come around with a sensor next time. I found out today at quarter to five from my neighbor that they were blasting today at 5. So I called, and they sent a guy over with a sensor. (I guess they had forgotten) While he was setting it up they fired the blast - I heard it and my wife felt it, but it was a fairly small one this time. Then he got set up and went back to the pit to tell them he was ready. He came back about 15 min later to say they had just fired it. Of course we didn't hear or feel anything because it has already gone off earlier when we heard it. So he said the data was fine. When I tried to explain what sort of shocks we have been getting, but I was pretty much called a liar. I guess it was just a show to shut me up. So they will continue damaging my house and there doesn't seem to be anything they will do about it. I have a large picture window that has cracks right across it - I guess I will get it replaced and hope for the best. BTW - I was demolition qualified in the military and also used to watch the blasts at Brenda Mine when I was a kid, so I have been around blasting all my life - I know what shock waves feel like and it ticks me off to continously be called a liar when all I am doing is trying to protect my home and my family. I was really hoping we could work together and work something out, instead of making lawyers richer, but that's the way businesses like this operate.

Great company to work for. Takes safety, regulations and training serious while ensuring all equipment is kept up to date and/or upgraded. Lots of room to grow if willing to put the work in!

Unacceptable behavior & driving habits from the employees. The company managers refuse to be held accountable for their employees actions despite them representing their name in uniform and vehicle.
