About Szechuan Paramount

The founder Ki Wong spent years accumulating his culinary experience internationally. When he was ready to start his own family, he decided to move back home to his beloved Edmonton. Edmonton is where his parents raised him and his 5 other siblings. Ki started his first restaurant in 1995 with 3 goals in mind: to share his passion and love of food, creating that warm feeling in your belly that only comes from a delicious a home-cooked meal, and being able to enjoy that great home-cooked meal with family.

After years of creating memories for numerous patrons and hearing numerous requests for more locations and access from those patrons,  Ki has begun his expansion of quick-service locations to better serve these loyal patrons.

Nowadays you will still often see Ki at the restaurant, creating home-cooked meals with all the love people have come to expect. His love of food on full display: cooking, eating, and sharing alongside his family and extended restaurant family.

This place had the best szechaun beef and sweet and sour pork I've had in a while. The dinner for two was the bomb and decent pricing.

The food is good, price is not bad, but they need to update the menu to make it less confusing when it comes to the Grab and Go dish. When I looked at the menu, it says for $10, you get 2 entrees and a side dish. Right below that, it shows a large list of entrees under "Entree Selection", and one would assume you get to choose two entrees from that list. However, you're only allowed to choose from around 8 entrees or so, and this isn't mentioned on the menu. Also when you look at the TV screen in the restaurant, it shows peach shrimp alongside the $10 Grab and Go dish, which would make one assume peach shrimp is an eligible entree, but its not. Food is good, but they just need to work out these minor opening day setbacks.

First and last time trying this place. Ordered Dinner for 4 and what a waste of money. $80 right in the garbage. Everything tasted as though they poured a box of salt all over it. You couldn't even taste anything but salt. Egg roll we got was dry and tasted like curry with nothing inside. Not a usual egg roll. The spring rolls were greasy, could squeeze grease out of them. Kung pow chicken had no spice just tasted like salt. The chicken chow mein were mushy.Only thing that was edible were the wontons even though they lacked filling. Total waste of money and we ended up having to make everyone something to eat as nobody could eat the food. I would definitely give this place 0stars if possible and definitely would not recommend based on my experience

I am a huge Chinese food fan but fried rice is definitely subpar...dry, flavourless - honestly I would make better Chinese food

Food is absolutely disgusting and inedible. Its like the poured a pound of salt all over everything! Bought dinner for 4 and it was a total waste of money. Only thing that wasn't salty as the deep fried Waltons which had no filling in it!. What a joke. Please do your self a favor and do not waste your money. 80$ in the garbage. Egg rolls tasted like curry and the chow mein is over boiled and soggy. My first and last time eating here. Would give 0 stars if it was an option

Recently ordered the dinner for 4 from this location after some online referrals for this restaurant. We were very disappointed in the food we ordered. The entire container of lemon chicken was thrown away because after one bite you are wondering what the heck is even in side of the breading if anything. It resembled nothing of chicken. Chicken fried rice was super dry. Chowmein had funky large slices of "chicken" but didn't resemble chicken. The sweet and sour pork was fatty and chewy. Ginger beef was questionable as well. I would not recommend ordering from here. Portions are large but we were honestly super disappointed. Not that it mattered but after spending $80+ you don't even get a fortune cookie.

This is the second time I've ordered from Szechuan Paramount and I've been disappointed now two times. The broth of the Wonton soup is inedible with the amount of salt in it. For a soup that's over $10 this is a rip off. I had to filter the wontons out and make my own soup broth. I ordered Szechuan beef in the past and I had the same issue, the salt taste was completely over powering and made the food gross. I've tried to give this place a chance, but never again.

New, clean and perfect for a great meal. My visit today was so pleasant with the kind gentleman upfront. I ordered orange chicken, braised beef chow mein (crispy), hot and sour soup and the stir fried veggies with tofu and fish! Loved every bite. The takeout packaging was well thought out with cardboard cutouts to keep everything sitting upright, organized and zero spillage! I will be coming here from now on for my Chinese dinner cravings!! ?
