★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Matt and Connie are the best!!!! I went for my drivers test today however my insurance papers were expired, I had a bit of a melt down but Matt was so calm and helped me get the information I needed. Connie was so personable and understanding after I had passed and needed my new information. They really changed my bad situation into a good one. The driving instructor was also incredible! Unfortunately I can’t remember her name but she was so reassuring and warm and I really appreciated her feedback. Thank you guys, sorry about the meltdown!!!!!

I went for a road test today, and my driving examiner was extremely rude throughout the entire interaction. She was extremely condescending and pretentious. If I answered a question not how she wanted, she would repeat the question in an even more condescending tone, until I gave the answer she wanted, without any explanation as to why that answer was the correct one. She spoke to me as if I was an incompetent child and made me cry.
Thankfully, I have filed a formal complaint with Alberta Transportation, as when I called Sylvan Lake Registries office, I was told they don’t deal with complaints.
I would highly recommend going anywhere else if you want to be treated with respect, and not talked down to.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Will never being using this location again. I went to take my driving test today and I showed up 40min early as the requested to show up 30 min early. I sat and waited for 20min and then when we went out to do my inspection before the test. My overhead brake light happened to be burnt out (yes I know that is my fault for not checking) but when I asked if a family member could bring me a different vehicle so that I could take the test in it she said no because it would be 5 min after my scheduled time. They were not accommodating at all and did not care that I had paid $160 for this test and they just turned me away! Very unprofessional!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to get a plate for a boat trailer Agent could not find Vin we provided. Told us to go get right Vin number. Called trailer manufacturer who gave us a different number which we put on the form. Went back to registry and they said we needed the seller to inital the change. So we did this ...another 45 drive back to seller. Then we went to another registry who found the first number we had provided to Sylvan Lake. Bottom line...poor customer service at Sylvan Lake .Will never be going to this registry again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible service don’t go here for your graduated drivers test costed 175 dollars for them to not pass my vehicle for no aparent reason (looked at it for 5 seconds) and wouldn’t refund my money

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE FOR YOUR DRIVERS EXAM!!!
We were there 35 mins early, had all paperwork done in 5 mins… drove an hour to get there… all lights working perfectly when we left, the centre break light in back window went out sometime between home and Sylavan lake… It took us 10 mins to get to Canadian tire and back with a new bulb, no tools required just pull and plug, we returned 8 mins past appt time so test was forfeited. My son took the day off of work to take this test… Cost us a days work, the cost of the road test and the fuel to and from Sylvan Lake! About a $600 day….ALL FOR 8 mins…WAS ABSOLUTELY LIVID ….. we were expected to sit there for half an hour to wait for them but they couldn’t give us 8 mins to fix a bulb…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible place to do a drivers test. I wish I would have read the reviews on this registry before wasting 160$. Go to Red Deer for the advanced road test. If you go to sylvan lake you’ll be scammed and left feeling angry. I showed up 30 mins before my test. The women instantly turned me away because of tint on my front window. I wasn’t aware since I bought this vehicle second hand and the the tint is barely visible. (I thought it was factory) which is acceptable. You can see through the glass easily. I offered to peel it off because I did not want to lose my money, and I understood the reasons that tint is illegal. This was still with 20 mins before my test was schedule to start so I would of had more then enough time to peel it off. She said it was unacceptable even if I would peel my tint. She was rude and made me feel stupid, it was embarrassing. Overall I will never step foot in this place again. Worst experience ever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve always used the Sylvan Lake Registries office and have never had an issue. Typically a short wait, everyone’s friendly and I hear people called up by name. Lived in Sylvan for 3 yrs now and never had a bad experience.
My daughter performed her driver test and that couldn’t have gone smoother or better. I believe the instructor was Erica; very nice and courteous person. Good job guys and thank you.
