★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From the minute you walk into the restaurant you can't help but feel like you have transported to a place. So tastefully decorated with gorgeous fixtures. Definitely multiple Instagram worthy backdrops (Even in the bathroom!)! And the light fixtures are spectacular!
You might wonder if the food can outshine the decor. Well we love it! So many unique twists on traditional dishes. We recommend returning multiple times to make it through the whole menu!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dined in for the first time here a little while ago as we attended an engagement party. Cute little Indian restaurant and west Vancouver. Nice aroma and nice staff. But as for the food and drinks… it was actually quite decent but personally didn’t feel like the authentic (or close to authentic) style of Indian food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice, comfortable space, and friendly/polite service. But it was quite busy on Saturday evening, so service was actually very slow (think they were short-handed). And the actual food - it was disappointing: medium Railway Lamb was lamb in a tomato sauce, with no spice and no potatoes; Chicken Korma was incredibly sweet (waiter actually warned of the sweetness, to be fair).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am extremely impressed with Swad, so much that I have a mouth watering desire to return every time I see it!
Some of the best Indian sauces I've ever had accompanied by fantastic breads - a top rating for both in-house and take out dinners! I will certainly be going back to try the lunches soon.
Now to add to this a year or so later - I've now been to Swad a few times, both dine in and takeout. I've tried meat and veggies dishes, appies and main courses and I've always been impressed. (One thing I haven't done is had lunch, only dinner)
The prices for the main courses can be a little higher than other parts of the city, but you get excellent quality for that. I can see that other people think the same as me, because it is a busy place. I have not needed reservations, but I've been lucky and got the last free table on occasion.
This is still a restaurant I recommend, and I'm doing so now.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Favorite place in west Vancouver for Indian cuisine. Dine here more than 5x and very satisfying. Place look at there site for more info for reservations during weekends . Sometimes it's too busy. Food are scrumptious. Vaccine proof is a must. Place is so relaxing. Love the ambiance and music with the lights. Perfect for dates and Family gatherings.

A friends family hosted us here for an engagement party and this was the perfect spot.
A variety of delicious dishes, including palak lamb, pakoras, mogho (cassava), chicken, daal, rice, and more.
Definitely would come here if you’re looking for great Indian food in West Van.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice restaurant located in West Van with street and back yard free parking. Cozy environment, friendly service. Monday and Tuesday are customer appreciation night, you can get 25% off. For bottled wines you can get 50% off, good deal! As I am not an Indian food expert, my friend did the ordering. The Lamb and buttered chicken are must try, best with rice or naan, yummy! I also like the spinach with cheese, the waiter said the cheese was home made, so tasty!
