Screw these guys. Here's a timeline for you: Called on June 3, 2019 asking for a quote. No one called me back. Called again on June 11, 2019 asking for a quote. No one called me back. Called again on June 24, 2019 asking for a quote. Mentioned that if they thought my job was too small then to tell me so, I'd look elsewhere. They assured me they were interested and that someone would call me back. No one called me back. Called again on July 8, 2019. Told them this was the fourth time I had called. That I wasn't shopping the job around. That all I needed was a quote and a timeline so I could plan for site prep, and, again, if they weren't interested in the job to just let me know and I'd find someone else. I was blown away when an estimator called me back and met me on site the next day. July 9, 2019. Guy came to site. Measured the job out. I asked for a quote, and a timeline, and with that in hand I would give a deposit and we could move forward. Also asked if the job was something they were interested in because it had taken over a month and four phone calls to even get a guy on site. He said they were interested and would get me a quote in a day or two. I never heard back. July 23, 2019. I had the phone number for the guy who measured the job out so I texted him, "Hey, it's been two weeks since you measured that walkway on 17th Ave. Can we make a plan?" No response. I never haggled on price. I never did anything but ask for a quote and a start time. I even told the guy who measured the site that he was the only guy I was talking to so as long as the quote was reasonable we'd go ahead with it. I don't play games. I don't put a bunch of companies up against each other. Any reasonable price and timeline would have gotten them the job without question but they didn't respond. Worst contracting experience I've ever had. Never again.
