★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I used to LOVE this place when I lived in East Van and would come here all the time. Visiting from Ontario, I was super stoked to come back here for sushi, but was VERY DISAPPOINTED upon my return.
Here’s why:
First, I came solo at around 9pm. I sat on the deck/balcony, facing the side of the Indian restaurant next door. By the time I sat down until my order got taken, it had been 35 minutes!!!!! I kid you not. Sure, water had been brought to me, as well as napkins and chopsticks, but after that no one had approached me for 35 minutes. I was tempted to get up and leave, but was starving so decided to stay.
My second disappointment was that they forgot to bring my spinach gomae. This was a big upset as I LOVE SPINACH GOMAE, and it is a rare find in Ontario.
Thirdly, my rainbow rolls were the size of my eyeballs and quality was extremely poor. Rainbow rolls should be large beautiful, colourful pieces of sushi with lots of fresh salmon and avocado on top. These rainbow rolls looked like California rolls dabbed in avocado with a bit of salmon slapped on top. The rolls were also loose and didn’t look appetizing. Very very disappointing.
My only POSITIVE comment would be the presentation of the sushi itself: It was nicely presented on a board with a cool steam effect. Also the sashimi was great! ??
3/5 stars for this place. Quality of sushi + terrible customer service just brings the grading right down.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really delicious and fresh sushi. Lots of different kinds of sushi served. The size was also decent and it was beautifully plated. Servers were very attentive to our needs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pleasant commercial drive sushi joint with fresh food and fun, artistic presentation. The sushi was great. I like how the Maki rolls look like flowers! One star taken off for the restaurant inside being slightly dirty and the tables clearly not having been wiped/cleaned between customers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favorite Japanese restaurants on Commercial Drive.
Food has been always great and fresh, which is crucial for Japanese food. Comfortable seating and clean environment with Covid measures.
Only problem was slow service last time we went. They were apparently short staffed. Hope they pick up the capacity soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been here several times and always left with exceptionally satisfied by service and food. LOVE their Salmon Teriyaki with noddles and Smoked Salmon Roll but exchanged the crab to yam. Everything served fresh and still steaming hot. Will definitely come back and recommend this place for a late night sushi or quick dinner. The staff are so nice and care about their jobs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. This was so wonderful! I am use to Toronto sushi, and this place didn't disappoint. The pink lady was absolutely fantastic and the giant roll was awesome too. 100% recommend. Small mom and pop shop, so don't expect blazing fast service, but expect QUALITY service. Will be back if I go back to BC
