We spent several years prior to working with Sunset pricing out renovations and new builds with different contractors. When we finally started working with Sunset we knew we had found the right builder for the job. Sunset was able to help with an initial cost estimate that outlined our budget and scope. Sunset worked closely with us during the design phase to provide construction input and help control costs and in some cases save money by making minor modifications (foundation design, window placement, etc) to our house plans. Throughout construction Sunset and our Project Manager (Nicole) went above and beyond to ensure we remained on schedule, costs were controlled and monitored and our expectations were met. During the construction and finishing of our project we did have a minor leak and a few quality issues with different trades. This was where Nicole and Sunset really stepped up and showed what the company stood for. Nicole clearly communicated the issues, listened to our concerns and worked with us to ensure a solution was found. When needed Nicole did not hesitate to push contractors to complete their scope(s), and make the required corrections. In the end our house looks great and we could not be more happy that we selected Sunset I would encourage anyone looking to build a custom home in Calgary to meet with Sunset and their team.

When we first met with Pedro he was straightforward, showing us the cost of similar projects, which helped us decide if the project was feasible. We appreciated the frankness. It's been a couple of years now since we moved in and we are still really happy. The construction had a couple of snags but got solved pretty quickly, and now in the warranty period they are pretty responsive when needed.

Sunset suggested a couple architects to work with and we interviewed them and went with one of them. The experiences were overall pretty good, specially the interior design, we really needed some guidance to achieve the interior we were looking for. 2. The construction process was completed ahead of the published schedule (good). The budget was also pretty good, although we did some extra selections that pushed us a bit on the higher side, but we wanted it. 3. We have been taking care of the maintenance required for a new house, so the warranty calls have been virtually none. The regular drywall touch ups were taken care of at year one. Overall really happy.
