M	Mario Laron on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was calling Odette Cancer this morning hopefully to get the time of my re-booked appointment this coming Friday with Dr. Lablow. After 20 minutes waiting period finally, a Booking Receptionist (I don't know if this is the right designation) took my call, right away she asked the number of my Sunny Brook card or OHIP #, "I said, sorry but I forgot my wallet in my house as I'm in the office right now, can you please use my name as reference to pull out my information in the system". What she said was " NO" and right away hung up on me. She actually so rude while asking for my information. I'm not being sensitive with this issue but people like her should be educated to handle patients with compassion especially those really ill and only few remaining days, months or years to live. Please review our conversation and you will find out how rude she was. Time of my call was about between 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. But majority of my visits at Odette Cancer Centre were so great. People in the clinic are so helpful and extremely nice especially Dr. Lablow's Team.

I was treated from the front threshold, to the exit throughout Odette Clinic, through my Radiation and Chemo treatment. The Nurses and Doctors and all Staff made a bad situation manageable, with their professionalism and accommodating personalities and care!!!!
M	Mike and Lana on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was recently referred to Dr Andrew Loblaw and Dr Rachel Glicksman for evaluation of my prostate for possible cancer. From the start, they make me feel very relaxed, first name basis, both ways, they explained everything super well. What I admired most, was the follow up, if they said, that they would do something, by a certain date, they did it. they evaluated me, tested me, biopsied me,and explained the procedures and results, and called me at home (twice) to check up on me. they gave me a plan for monitoring for the future and I'm here to recommend and thank them for such caring a way of dealing with patients...top notch ...I am a lucky one...I am ok, I admire their work and technical abilities to help anyone... thanks again.. W	W on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent Head & Neck cancer care. Dr. Kevin Higgins is an amazing surgeon & incredibly skilful. He & his team of surgeons really are another level. My family member rec'd lifesaving surgery along with outstanding reconstruction. The Odette Centre nurses are helpful, understanding & reassuring. God bless you all at Odette and thank you.

Update Aug 2021 - I have to say I'm very disappointed in the care provided by Dr. Rachel Kupets. Although she is a brilliant doctor, her interpersonal skills leave a great deal to be desired. She has had a pattern of not being prepared for follow up appointments (not knowing the purpose of the follow up!), not providing information for upcoming procedures (simple helpful information like what to expect), and consistently rushing appointments like she's late for a flight (we're lucky to get more than a minute out of her). Calvin Law, please advise Dr. Kupets on attentive patient care.

Always asking for hospital card number as if it’s impossible to search by name . Have an MRI scheduled for tomorrow but my menstrual period was within bad timing so just wanted to double check with the hospital if I’m still OK to come to my MRI tomorrow. Unfortunately I guess I will never know
E	Elizabeth Horton on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My brother had liver cancer surgery in August. The surgeon described the extensive cancer in his intestines, gall bladder and liver as "a perfect storm." They sent him home with a sheet of paper. There was NO post operative care, he has had constant diahrea for 6 months and has had no support, no follow up with the surgeon who is impossible to reach. He has lost 50 pounds. FIFTY POUNDS, and not one doctor finds this alarming. I live in the USA. They talk about health care in Canada being so great. I tell everyone I meet, and on social media that that is a MYTH. His health care, coordination of services, test orders and reports are non-existent. Who is running the hospital and surgical teams? Who's in charge of cancer patient follow-up? I just wish my sick ematiated brother had the energy to come to the US for treatment. They should be ashamed of themselves, and hiding behind Covid is pathetic.
