Sunny Birch Cottage Resort

We’re just on our way out from our amazing stay here! The owners were so friendly, our two boys absolutely loved it! We have family down here so we will definitely be back! I highly recommend.

The hosts were outstanding. They were very polite and cordial. We were in a cottage that comfortably fit 7 people. We went there on 6 motorcycles and a small SUV and parking was ample. Nice land, nice people, very nice stay. I can't say enough about how good it was... specifically on Canada day weekend. Highly recommend !! Frank and June were Great!!

I'll start by saying we paid almost $2600 to rent the westwing cottage here, which given the "included" amenities such as "private beach", "boats" and "hot tub" we thought was a fairly good price for sauble beach...and it would have been if all was as it seemed and had been advertised. Arriving at the cottage, we find the main door that has only 1 key and locks from the outside immediately when it gets closed...that was a fun way to find out your locked out anytime its closed. Finding the cottage was beyond frustrating, the owners directions were "5 driveways on the left side" which brought us to other peoples homes....... **its NUMBER 1215 for westwinds**. AAAANNNDDD lets not mention the owner 'June' had absolutely NO idea who we were or that we had a pet with us after already having pre-confirmed numerous times. The "Private beach" that is advertised on the website and included with the pricing.....is Sauble beach, there is no private section in any way and it is PAID parking. 7/hr or 30/day or 50$ parking tickets. About 10-15 minute walk to the water from the cottages(walking at a quick pace) The "Boats" that are advertised on the website being included in the rentals.... are the ones you rent on the way to the beach from a store for a $500 deposit . The "hot tub" that is advertised on the website being included in the rentals.... is only if you rent a specific cottage that has access to it....... There is a Beehive the size of a small child hanging from the back of the cottage attached to the shed, luckily noone got stung. the ACTUAL Cottage itself was nice. beds could have new mattresses since they are likely from the 1970s, but overall very clean and tidy inside. AC worked good. WIFI only really works at the firepit. I would recommend bringing COOK WARE, like pots and pans if you want food thats not going to burn and the BBQ was lowkey terrifying and the lowest setting is still super hot. OVERALL, this cottage is NOT EVEN CLOSE to being worth $2600, MAYYYYYYBE 1600 due to its location, but considering there is literally NOTHING included except the cottage itself, $2600 is a bit of a ripoff. They claim alot of amenities are included and nothing is included at all. Making the best of everything, we had a wonderful time, but after seeing SOOO MANY cottages in the area while we were there, this is NOT one we would likely ever go back to..

Great place! June and Frank were fantastic hosts. Not a bad thing to say. Our whole group enjoyed themselves, and loved the large outdoor spaces. We hope to see you again next year. Joe.

This is great cottage and we had wonderful time there for a few days! Room is clean and well kitchenwared, owner June is pretty nice lady. Location is great, not in too busy area so you can have quiet time but it's very close to beach with just 10 mins walking.

This is our second time staying in the Alkira cottage with Sunny Birch cottages and our stay was just as amazing as the first stay. The cottage is perfectly located between the beach and sauble falls...a short walk to each. Very quite area, located on a well kept property. Frank and June, the owners are wonderful people to deal with, speak with and even spend time with chatting about the area. Wife and I are already planning our next visit!

First time at this location and it was amazing! Hosts are friendly and welcoming. Great grounds and space for families, our boys loved the playground. Location is great, close enough to everything but still little walk or drive that gives you space from everything. We can’t wait to go back next summer!

This place is a nice quite location, close to the waterfront and also a short drive to main street. We normally look for a quite getaway where we can spend some quite time, BBQ, and sit around a camp fire and this location suits the bill. June and Frank are extremely friendly and helpful.
