With a passion for restoring classic vehicles and hotrods, Ed founded Sunburn Auto Appraisals 32 years ago as a vintage vehicle appraisal company. Noting an unfulfilled need in the appraisal industry, Ed then became an advocate for those struggling to find fairness from their insurance companies after being involved in vehicle loss through damage or theft. Ed has spent over 30 years determining vehicle values and negotiating with insurance companies for fair settlements on behalf of consumers. Total Loss and Diminished Value Vehicle Appraisals, are the two fields in which Ed specializes. So anyone spending around $$$$ to appraise got Diminished Value back as appraised (Either DRP process or in court)?
I would like to get feedback from the people who gave 5 star review... not from the owner
Anyone? Received all the money back from 3rd Party as Appraisal?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ed is a great! He definitely knows what he's doing and provides a detailed and timely appraisal on your car. His customer service is great-- he even helped me do a mini diagnostic on my car when it was acting up! Easily he could have said "i don't know" and moved on with the appraisal, (but he didn't). Now that is above and beyond in my eyes! He also showed extra care when he took the time to explain the different endorsements that can be applied to your policy when it comes to getting classic-car insurance. These might sound like small things but in the eyes of a car-lover who's young and doesn't have too much knowledge (especially about cars that are older than him) they both are important and show extra hospitality. Thank you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hello Everyone. I can’t say enough about how Ed helped my wife and I deal with the insurance company. My wife was involved in. Motor vehicle accident and was T-Boned on the passenger side. We had a big SUV a Chrysler Aspen and it was written off by the insurance company. Now it was not perfect but it was not worth the just over 4500 they appraised it at. We only drive it in winter time and had 180000 kms and loaded. We fought with them and they said if we thought it was worth more we had to hire our own appraiser....they thought we wouldn’t but we did and are very happy we did. Ed took care of everything. The calls with the insurance company and the adjuster...long story short. Ed got almost double the amount they offered us in the beginning... it was a relief. We totally recommend Ed and Sunburn.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed with Ed's service. He charges way way above the standard rate for appraisals. Also, he is not great at negotiating as he constantly appealed to emotion rather than facts and vehicle values which is a bad way to structure a negotiation and distracts from the value of the vehicle. It was quite odd seeing how he handled negotiations. Not only that but he missed a few emails from the other party during the negotiation. He is easy to find via Google and online, however, I recommend you keep looking for other services. I would recommend looking up other appraisers certified by the Specialty Vehicle Appraisal Institute to find other individuals who charge a fair rate, are more knowledgeable about vehicle value estimates, have good negotiation skills, are timely/punctual with responses, and willing to put in some work. I would not recommend Ed's services to anyone and not use his services again. Lesson learned.
