Sun Hills Riding Centre

Such an incredible and wonderful experience was for me to meet Dave, Sherry and their lovely horses in Osoyoos. It just made our trip way more memorable. The whole booking, registration, greeting was very smooth. You could feel the positive energy in the air specially when Sherry took us through the story of each horse, mostly rescued, all well trained and each of them with his own character. I really enjoyed the rising in the desert, with very little precious experience I had, I could totally trust the horse that I was riding, he was super gentle, a bit funny and definitely hungry :). I will definitely book again when we go back there.

We had a wonderful experience at Sun Hills Riding Centre! The horses are happy and well taken care of. Dave and Sherry are incredibly welcoming, and you can tell they love what they do. They introduced us to all of the horses individually, and then paired us with the best horse for our experience. They make sure the whole group is confident and comfortable before hitting the trail, where you have a beautiful view of the landscape and valley. The experience was not rushed in any way and was very relaxing, lots of fun and something we’ll remember for years to come. Highly recommend Sun Hills for your next activity!

We had the best time on our trail ride with Sun Hills Riding Centre. Sherry and Dave are wonderful guides and we loved every minute with them, exploring the views of Osoyoos by horseback! Highly recommend booking a tour with them if you're in the area.

Learning to ride a horse with Sun Hills Riding Centre was sooo much fun ? Dave and Sherry did an amazing job teaching us and were such wonderful people. Their kindness and pateince made the entire experience extremely enjoyable. At first, I was terrified of going on Walter (the horse they lent me). Through their guidance, I became comfortable with riding Walter, to the point that he became much like a compainion to me. By the end, I was riding with one hand on the reins, taking as many photos as I could ? Furthermore, their kindness and patience didn't stop with their clients—it extended towards horses too! Before we rode on our horses, Dave and Sherry gave us a breif introduction to all of them; covering their names and history. At this point, their passion for their horses was evident. Many of them were in dire situations prior to Dave and Sherry taking them in. Walter, to my suprise, had a past as a race horse! Later on, Sherry explained that there was a one hour period between each horse ride. From how she mentioned it, it was clear that the time was dedicated for letting the horses restore their energy. As their service potentially overworking horses was a concern, hearing this made us happy ? After riding the horses, they even gave us carrots to feed the horses, which was incredibly sweet of them! The combination of Dave and Sherry's passion for horses and their care for thier customers, made this a memorable first-time experience—and a highlight of my trip. In the future, if I ever go back to Osoyoos, there is no doubt in my mind that I'll be riding with them again. Highly recommend Sun Hills Riding Centre! We had absolutely an amazing horse back riding here and enjoyed the fabulous view along the trail. Sherry and Dave are extremely friendly, both super professional and informative. Not even mentioned that they are really humorous too, they treated us like their friends. Even if you are beginner, don’t worry because they will patiently show you how till you get it, trust me it’s really not that hard. Our horse were really cute and are trained well by the hosts. Each horse has their own story and Sherry will share it to you one by one in very detailed. Believe me you all will love it and I feel so touched seeing they put all their heart to bring a home for the horses. Can’t wait for our next visit and would definitely spend more time here!

This establishment was by far the best I have ever experienced. And there have been many! Sherry and Dave were amazing, knowledgable, care for the horses, take the extra time to ensure uncomfortable riders are feeling ready to go. The horse are beautiful and the scenery gorgeous! We went for a relaxing and beautiful trail ride through the desert this morning with Sun Hills. Most of their horses are rescues that are very calm and well trained. They took time to introduce us to all the horses and explain their background. They taught us enough about how to ride to make us feel confident and safe but also in control. Overall a wonderful experience - we would highly recommend this trail ride!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Sun Hills Riding Centre! None of us have ridden before, and Sherry and Dave were kind and patient. They went through instructions thoroughly and gave us time to practice;  we felt very safe. They also took the time to tell us about the horses (many of whom were rescued) and their stories. You can tell they genuinely care about the horses and treat them like their family. I learned so much about horses and the land in the 1 hour session we booked, and we never felt rushed though it ended up running quite a bit longer than an hour. We also didn't have to worry about taking photos while riding because Sherry took some for us. It was a very wholesome experience, and we would love to return next time we are in Osoyoos.
