Summit GM Chevrolet GMC Buick

This dealership is a rip off. Especially to their own customers that purchases cars from them. On several occassions they just want to rip you off. I called for a rear signal light bulb change, a job that takes 20mins they said labour was $89.00 before tax and they have not even added parts a total with parts will be $100+ almost same cost to have an oil change for a burnt bulb. They couldn't even schedule me till after a week. It's really pathetic and I regreted ever buying a vehicle from them. They re running a monopolistic business in fortmcmurray. If there are other car brands that want to make good money please come to fort mcmurray and I guarantee you the entire city will patronize you. They have no choice right now that's why the summit Gm is comfortable ripping unsuspecting customers off. Please don't buy a vehicle there. Not a good expirence.

On Friday 10th I booked my vehicle in for repairs for an engine misfire that I noticed that morning when I started the vehicle.I had my son deliver the vehicle at Summit GM at 12 noon for the appointment as I had to be in Edmonton for a medical appointment.The lady I was dealing with understood that I needed to be informed about the diagnosis and quote before work could begin on my vehicle.At around about 3:15pm I phoned and left a message and contact number to find out about progress on my vehicle.Soon after I spoke with a lady in customer care as I had not heard from the service agent assigned to deal with my vehicle.When I finally heard from her she explained that booking time does not mean your vehicle is in the workshop.Fair enough! She then told me that my vehicle had been in the workshop for about 20 minutes and the problem had been diagnosed and she was waiting from the spares department before she could complete the quote. She phoned me soon after and quoted me $732.16 to replace the throttle position sensor.I asked why so much and she replied that the sensor was difficult to install.I felt I had no choice so I gave her the go ahead.She informed me the vehicle would be ready between 6:30 and 7:30pm.I arrived at 6:30 and paid for my vehicle.I scrutinized the invoice and noticed the replacement part cost $70.69.I asked the service agent and she said cost of spare does not have any bearing on labour costs.I felt and still feel ripped off and I told her what I thought about the bill.Upon further inspection at home my wife pointed out a charge of $74.61 for,and I quote"misc material use and hazardous waste disposal"The next morning I phoned a dealership in Edmonton and was quoted 1.3hours which worked out to $255.00 labour including consumables to install the same sensor.You add the cost of the sensor and the total is less than half what Summit gm charged me.I feel I have been ripped off.Summit is the only GM dealership in town.I guess that gives you a licence to fleece your customers!

So I have or should I say had an Appointment booked, but they Surprise surprise " backed up in the shop"... What's the point of the appointment! . I specifically said I need my vehicle on this day is ,1 day enough time and they said oh yeah no problem. Don't worry I don't need my vehicle, that I over paid for because it's Fort McMurray. 1 ⭐ is too much

I had the pleasure of dealing with Heather for a truck I was interested in. As I live far away from dealership and couldn’t check out the vehicle in person; she sent me pictures; videos and inspection reports to view on my phone. I did not make the purchase as the vehicle did not meet my needs but was happy that she helped me virtually!
