The Sudbury Rowing Club, located on the shore of beautiful Ramsey Lake in Sudbury, Ontario, is a not for profit organization which is run solely by volunteers who are dedicated to the sport of rowing. Formed in the early 1990s, the Club was first located in a hospital parking lot adjacent to Bell Park, on the shores of the lake, and was enclosed in an outdoor fenced-in storage area. Without docks, members had to walk knee deep into the water to launch their boats, no mean feat in the chilly May waters. Eventually, the Sudbury Rowing Club joined with the Sudbury Canoe Club and the Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival in a shared boathouse on Elizabeth Street.
